Muslims tell Christians: 'Make peace with us or survival of world is at stake'

You're right. There is a big difference in bombing a market in Baghdad and an abortion clinic in Birmingham.

And I don't buy the "converted Muslim" thing one bit.

That's fine i'm not selling anything. You obviously have issues with religion and that's fine too.

However in true Islam those bombers have a right to bomb infadels according to the koran and are rewarded- Christians and the Bible is the exact opposite, big difference.

I have no problem with believing in something bigger than yourself (and I do believe that). The problem I have is how religions are perverted to fit the beliefs of man. Today's churches are so far away from the original teachings that I doubt Christ would ever step foot in one.

That really depends on which church you go to and I thought you were criticizing JZVol for making sweeping statements? Yea, there a lot of bad churches out there. Spend enough time and a person can find a great one as well.

Like av123 said I doubt that is true of all churches, but point taken.

I will say again though that jihad is not a perversion of Muslim beliefs, where extremism in christianity is a perversion.

OK. If it wasn't for bad news from the war that our media could dig up, we wouldn't have any news at all. It's funny between the Gulf War and this war just how far from being patriotic we have become. We are trying to free and people from a previous dictatorship that told them what to do and when to do it. They don't know what freedom is just yet, but when they figure it out it's going to be a powerful thing for the Iraqi people.

Asking for a clarification on this one...are you saying that anyone disagreeing with being in Iraq is unpatriotic?

I don't see the people standing behind the people in harm's way like I did 17 years ago. Oh wait, that's right the war was over in less than 6 months. Guess that tells me its OK to be patriotic for 6 months or so, after that it's politically incorrect.

Patriotism is a changing dynamic. Our own civil war had many patriots fighting on both sides. The carnage was epic. Most people stood behind their own. The problem with asymetrical wars like Iraq is that not enough of your own get involved. Thus, levels of patriotism vary.

I was in the middle east for 16 mos. as a contractor serving our armed forces. In Bagdhad for 4 mos.
Baghdad is a city of 6+ million people. I'm sure there are more people killed by violence in NYC every day. But, our damn bleeding hear liberal press is intent on sensationalizing and blowing everything out of proportion.
I can't tell you how many times I've seen our soulders playing with kids or helping older people. And, you could often see in the smiles or the nod of the head as you passed that many of these people were grateful for us being there. But, does the TV ever show one second of that??
They have lived in opression and poverty and brainwashed for so many years they can barely think for themselves. The TV and newspapers are totally believed by the people because they have never been allowed to think differently. The living conditions are so harsh that the weak minded person is easily coersed into believing, if he blows himself up and becomes a marter, that he will go to heaven.
And women...for the most part are one step above the mans favorite sheep.
I wouldn't give one American life for the whole damn country but, are we doing a nobel thing......guess we've all got our opinions.
OK.....off my soap box....I just wanted you all to understand a bit about the common people over there that are caught up in this mess!!!!

I mist have missed the mass crowds at the airport screaming "Baby killers" to every person in uniform getting off the planes. Who are these people you are saying that are not behind the ones in harms way? Again, what does that have to do with one's viewpoint on Iraq involvement in the first place?

Ummm...yes. I've seen a lot on this type of occurrences. Doing a noble thing now and us needing to go there in the first place are two different issues. If we are to do "noble things" why are we not all over Africa? We've ignored Darfur. What about Myanmar? Or any other Third World country? What made Iraq worth diverting resources away from being attacked on 9/11 to being the new UN?

I would like for 138 mullahs to writing a letter that denounces terrorism and requires Muslims throughout the world to turn over all Islamic terrorists to the U.S.

No mass crowds....but, if you haven't heard the "baby killer" at least incinuated in the press then you need to look a little harder...maybe in the California press. And, doesn't Hillary and other Dem's march with the banner of end the war, get everyone out of Iraq??
IF..there are going to be "improvements" in Iraq...someone has got to be there to show them how and hold their hand most of the way. And, we're about the only ones...aren't we?

I don't disagree with you on those issues...it's a travesty what's going on there. But, eventhough we seem to be trying to save the world....our resources and tax dollars only go so far. Are you suggesting we invade those countries because they have nuke capabilities too?
By the way....could you explain the Bill button on your avitar

see, the way i see it the only reason that we havent turned all these extremist ********** terrorists into vulture food is that at home we are so caught up in party politics. Plus everoyne is laying down all these stupid rules of engadgement, well my granddad served in WWII, his rules of engadgement, kill the other guy. Like Patton said "War isnt about dying for your country, its making that other bastard die for his"
