This could go so many different ways it's not funny...

But I pick Meachem. Doesn't hurt that he was already my favorite player.

Shouldn't Eric get it since he has gotten so much grief from every angle lately???

I'm not sure who Eric is, but I guess you mean Erik Ainge.

Look at it this way... he threw two little hitch routes to Rob that got him 120 yards of his 291. Ainge played well, but I'd rather give it to Meach. :) :p

Ainge I'd give it too. But how about Wade, he single handedly broke up two would have been TD catches in the first half.

He also got burned BAD a couple of times. Like the first play from scrimmage.

Hopefully you will forgive me the slip of the K but if you haven't been on this board very much, there has been a very large contingent of folks denigrating Erik's abilities, thus my vote for him being MVP. Too bad you didn't have a vote on the telecast.

That first play was rough, I think everyone was thinking, "here we go again.."

Didn't last long though..

 I was just playing... although I think it is funny we can't spell the name of our starting QB.

I was doubting EA as much as anybody, and he played well. 11-17 is right where he should be... he shouldn't be passing more than say 25 times in a game. The run game helped him a lot, and his yardage was inflated thanks to Meach. That's all I'm saying. :vava:

Sorry to get a little funky. I agree Robert kicked serious butt and am proud of the entire team. As I said in an earlier thread, this is the first game and we can't afford to rest on our laurels as this is a long season. Rack 'em Vols from now on!!!!

After watching the ESPN highlights for the 10th time I've changed my mind. That block where Meach leveled the Cal defender on the Hardesty run along with the YAC's, he gets my vote.

:) I didn't see that until I watched the highlight online. The best part is that the defenders had given up on the play, Meach was still going full steam... he knew Hardesty wouldn't go down! I'm not sure that he wouldn't have gotten in without that block, but it sure looked good!

I saw it on the field, but I didn't know it was such a violent block. He just threw an elbow and knocked him on his butt. I love it.

He played completely different tonight than he did last year... all out. Full steam ahead! I love it.
