forget mvp they won as a team, sure meachem had a great game, the whole team did....what about the Defense.....come on guys no one player won todays game them boys just played liked they should wearing that orange jersey, I give the game ball to the whole team we keep playing like this I reckon NOBODY could stop us

Of course they won as a team, and for that I am very proud! I was just trying to get everyone's opinion on who really stood out from this awesome performance. My list was so long that I didn't even answer my own question!:) The only thing I saw that I wasn't really impressed with would have to be the punt returns. The only reason being we didn't see many of them. Maybe next game we will see more. Out of all the really good surprises from this game, I would say that the LBs surprised me the most. I knew the talent was there with all the others but I had no idea how good the LBs would be. This game was a masterpiece performance from the whole TN team! GREAT JOB GUYS!!!!

What about our linebackers.

Actaully I give it to Ainge for the great game.

Not necessarily MVP worthy, but I was also glad at our kicker driling them through the endzone for touchbacks.

He also got burned BAD a couple of times. Like the first play from scrimmage.
The two times it seemed like Wade got burnt (the 1st play and the 1st Cal TD,) UT was playing cover 2, Wade was in the area only because there were no receivers in the flats. Each time it was the safety who messed up. J. Wade played a great game, IMO.

You could easily giove it to about 5 differant players but considering everything mine goes to Ainge.

That first play was rough, I think everyone was thinking, "here we go again.."

Didn't last long though..

ESPN's picture went blank on that first play, so from the house, you were just hearing "[Cal Receiver] running down the sideline!"

And yes, I was also thinking, 'Oye, not again...'

This is easy. CROWD. Being part of the crowd i will except this mvp on behalf of the whole VN. Everyone was rocking and Cal crapped thier pants when the T split and our guys came out like a rocket.

Cal is a victim of hype. They mirror our 05 team. Top 10 preseason. Heisman running back. National championship aspirations. Blah blah blah.

Never should the Pac-10 be compared to the SEC every again. They have one team that could play in this league. And one other who could be a middle of the pack team. And its not Cal it so Oregon.

Jerod Mayo! just thought I'd give some love to my boy
Speaking of, he OWNED Lynch on his second sack... he faked right, went left, leaving Lynch blocking air.

Also, did you guys know that Lynch played both ways? He played MLB, I guess in an attempt to match our team speed on offense? Watch for #10 on the Hardesty run, that's Lynch. Again, I thought he was supposed to be fast... Hardesty ran away from him easily... it CAN'T be... maybe they have another #10 on D?

you might be joking, but they had a number 10 on both sides of the ball. Can't think of the LB's name though. If you're kidding sorry, hard to tell.

Yeah, I rechecked it on their roster. That's dumb btw. Especially if one is being touted for the Heisman. #10 should be #10.

Seriously though, it shows Lynch both ways in the official participation report.

8-M. Pimentel

Remember that name... he got OWNED by Meach on Hardesty's run.

Coach Cutcliffe and Chief. The focus and discipline is back on the hill, and I for one think that was the difference in the game. The staff had these guys bigger, faster, and stronger than in years back. It's always great to be a Tennessee Vol, but today is as sweet as it has been in a while. Great job by all, fans, coaches and team.

Wow! Its great to see how many names people have mentioned. I've missed getting that chill up my back from watching UT dominate a highly ranked opponent!!!

Meach for sure is the MVP!!! He demonstrated everything that Trooper said he was expecting of his receivers; moreover, he exemplified the physical and mental toughness that Cutcliff said was missing upon his return to the hill.

I predict as the season progresses that it will become hard to single out an MVP.
