My 1 cent worth on the New Coach

It is no question. Pearl would have went right back to winning. He was working on an awesome class. A down year is a down year. Historically Pearl is a winner. Every great coach has them.

What recruits was Pearl in on besides the two that are "signed" ?

I doubt that was a true measure of his personality since he said he'd had about 6hrs of sleep in 3 days. I'll give him a pass but I don't expect him to rip off his shirt anytime soon

No doubt. I'm sure that's not the personality that blew Hammy away during the interview process. Lord knows I would be a grumpy SOB if I was going on 6 hours sleep. Unless I was still high on the reality of a 1.3 million a year salary.

I cant recall the last time MO State had a 3 star or above considering them. I have been following MO State since Steve Alford. Hopefully Martin can bring Kent Williams with him as an assistant. Williams has a bright future. The kid was a stud for SIU.

I have stayed away from posting because of the circumstances but couldn't let this go. Concerning recruiting our entire 2003 class were 3 star recruits. The next year Spencer Laurie and Drew Richards were both top 150 guys. Kyle Kirk was a 3 star. In a 3 year period 03-05 we got 7 - 3 stars and during Zo's 3 years we got 2 and they are both in the current class which may or may not make it to campus. Zo did some great things for us but his recruiting of high school kids wasn't one of them. I am sure that will change with what you guys bring to the table but in his first 3 classes only 2 of the 10 high school kids made an impact. 6 of them transferred out after a year and 2 others played less than 5 minutes per game this year...jucos and DI transfers got Zo where he is.

Sorry for posting on your board but our program was good before Zo got here and it will be now that he is a Vol.

Interesting. Thanks for the post.

To be completely fair this years class was shaping up to be one of our better classes in a long time. With the 3 kids we have already signed who are all fairly highly rated for our level plus the verbals from Josh Richardson and Jarmar Gulley right before Zo came to you guys.

I didn't mean to come off as sour grapes because I completely understand Zo taking your job...it is some circumstances that have me disappointed. Good luck and hope Zo works out well for you guys.
