UPDATE


Hey, well it has been a good week and I thought it would be a good time for another update. As always if anybody has any new info on any of the prospects let me know and I will try and get if fixed. Hope you guys enjoy.

There could be more I don't know would really like some imput on O line or D line for the guys that are in the know.

i'm gonna wait till the start of fall camp to update the board again.

it will be an overhaul more than an update. lots of news lately.

Great i can't wait. Any info you could add between now and then would be great. I am going to try and keep this as up to date as possible. Will just depend on the info i get. got some already including bad news on couch.

I wish we had a coach who was serious about putting up a fence around TN. Some of these guys may not have the stars and fanfare, but in reality have the same potential as the big names. I'd like to see a handful of these guys starting in a few years: Alexandro Antone, Derek King, Dunaway, Robinson, Tino Thomas, Redden, Kerbyson, Antonio Richardson, Clear, Crowder.

As a true Tennessean, I'm a little upset some of these guys like Tino and Alexandro don't have offers, and I'm also a little upset at the guys that do have offers for not already committing. I know we need some of the big time recruits, but unless they're head and shoulders better than our in-state guys, i say the heck with 'em.

I have full faith in this staff to decide who needs an offer and who does not. If they earn one they will get one. I would like the best guys in the state but don’t think we should give out a guy just because he is in state also, if they wish to take their time I am ok with that.

Nice work. Looks like we're IN on a lot of quality players, a lot of 4* & 3* that seem to have the potential to be reranked as 4* later. Also, seem to be IN on a ton of DE's. Just hope we add some DT's!

Couple q's for those who know more (LV, Freak, Eric, ernie):

-Why are all the JUCO's unranked? Has Rivals not ranked JUCO's, or are those guys under the radar?
-Are we really in the lead for Brisset? & wtf is up with Worley's rating?
-How many more reranks does Rivals do? Is it one before the season, one in Jan, or is it one midseason too? I thought I remembered a ranking around Oct/Nov in add'n to the Jan one (or am I crazy?).

- Rivals does not rate JUCOs until later. I think it was October last year.

- no we are not in the lead. that hasn't been updated.

- before season, midseason, after season, and the last is after the AA games. thats the way it was last year anyways.

Rivals has not ranked them yet. I may try and put scouts ratings in there soon.

Not sure anymore we were but that was before Worley. I am sure that hurt us some. I know LSU is one school that has alot of interest in him. Worley's rating i have heard might go up but he will probably stay at a 3 star(Tom Smith) is the one most think will go up the most.

JMO, but this is where I disagree. Think two and three star here. (disclaimer: i'm not huge on stars, but this is just an example) if we're getting middle of the road guys from outside TN, when I believe we should just get those middle of the road guys from in-state.

Now if we end up with a bunch of highly rated guys then this thought doesn't apply. However, if we end up with a bunch of average guys then I'd rather them be in-state. I mean a three star has the potential to be Hardesty or a bench warmer, you just don't know; so why not stay in state with those type of recruits?

A 3 star in Florida or Georgia is probably better than one from Tennessee. They go against better competition week in and week out.

All 2 and 3 star players are not created equal. Just like all 4 and 5 star players are not equal. Some are better than others some fit our system better than others. Some have better grades or (character) the staff will take all this in to account. We are fortunate to have good instate talent this year and I think we will take advantage but we are rebuilding and need to take the best talent that we can get.
