I just thought I'd post a pic of my beer barrel that I had been working on. I started with the year I was born(1975) and went around as far as I could(2009). I know it all started in 1925 but there was no way to get all the dates and scores on mine and look the way I wanted it to. I also know why they stopped the tradition but It doesn't make any since because of all the drinking that takes place tailgating, inside the stadium, and all the beer commercials that come on T.V. during the game. I hope that we can see the real beer barrel on the sidelines again soon.

Thanks. I want to make another one for my daughter and start the year she was born. The problem is she was born in 2011.:banghead2: I still think I'm going to do it though and when she gets older she can help put the year and scores on with me.

That is really cool. I may make one for my son. Has a hate for Kentucky above all other teams.

If only they would bring the ol beer barrel back. I'm not for sure but was it 94 or 95 when we had to quit playing for the beer barrel?

You've got a good boy. We're in the minority as far as most hatred for any school. If UK was playing China I would be wearing a big red shirt.

I actually believe it was in 96 or 97 Tim Couch was the QB. I lived in Lexington at the time there were four boys in the vehicle including Couch and two of them died and alcohol was involved. As a parent I believe it was the right thing two do at the time and I believe brining it back would just bring bad memories back to these family members. Just my opinion.

It was almost 20 years ago. How many beer commercials have the families of those kids seen since then?

They should bring back the tradition; they should just call it "The Oaken Barrel."

That's awesome OP! I understand why they took it away, but I definitely miss it.

Pabst blue ribbon

Hey man PBR gets a bad rap...It's either considered an overly whitetrash/redneck beer....or a super hipster douchey beer. While it's actually just a pretty good beer! haha
