The drunk driving incident which resulted in the deaths of two people, including one Kentucky football player, occurred in the week preceding the Tennessee game. Had it transpired, say, in June, the direct symbolic link to the Beer Barrel would not have been as direct or as poignant. It absolutely was the right decision to make at that point in time. Good luck to those of you who value it as an icon of a "treasured" rivalry, but, at this date, you are fighting against inertia.
