Wisky will be a tough out. I think if Candy can get past them then they have a good shot at the Elite 8/Final 4.

It appears Candy finally found someone they can beat in the 1st round of the NCAA's. A team dorkier than them.

Yeah those wins over UNC, Michigan St., Kansas, FSU and Michigan make them very overrated. This Duke team is not great for sure, but they have a very good resume to earn a 2 seed.

Baylor doesn't wow me and I am lower on them than most, but they could make it to the elite 8 without too much trouble.

Baylor is talented enough to do some damage, but coaching and consistency are lacking. I'm not as high on the either.

Jackson can make big shots, and Acy can dunk, but I just don't totally trust Perry Jones taking 15 footers as their go-to offense.

I missed 1 game. Took Long Beach St to pull the 12/5 upset.

edit: that's not my VN bracket though. My local bracket with the boys.

I missed 3 games, but I had all 3 of them losing in the next round anyways. No big deal.


I still have to worry about those make up call from the Syracuse game going against Michigan State tonight.

1990(?) MSU -v- GaTech. Sweet 16. Kenny Anderson hits a 3, while STANDING ON THE 3PT LINE, at the buzzer to send it into overtime.

Every angle ever viewed of this shot shows it as a 2, game over.


sigh. just a couple examples of tough luck with refs in the tourney. Everyone and their brother will be cheering for the 16 seeds today, especially after the 'Cuse game yesterday. I hope the refs dont have a rooting interest!!

If anything, after watching that Cuse game, I would feel more confident than ever. It was obvious they wanted the #1 seed to advance, it makes too much sense fiscally. Same thing in this scenario, at least for the 16/1 matchups. After that, it's up for grabs.

LIU-B's coach said on the radio yesterday that he thinks his only chance to be MSU is to run with them. . . . and Im thinking. . . . "seriously?" :eek:lol: We have one big fella (NIX) that will need to carry an oxygen bottle if that happens, but he isnt going to be in all game anyways.

Appling, Payne, Trice, Kearney, and. . yeah. . Big10 POY Draymond Green. They will all fill up the bucket in a running game. Getting excited about tonight. I hope they make it a quick one, I have to be in Oak Ridge in the morning for some rowing! Gonna need my beauty sleep.

EDIT: and I hope you are right!!
