I’d imagine as a 7, you’d be the head of station, so there’s that. And if you want to add 1000 more days or so to your career, 8 would be within easy reach.

I'm getting looked at for 8 now. The board file just closed on Tuesday.

A BN (or maybe BDE) covers like 3 states so an area, yea, but its expansive

It's not 100% for sure.

But I'm limited to what I can do. OC/T, AC/RC, rot in an S-shop or recruiting.

Rot in an S-3 or go be an OC/T is about it.

I won't make 8 this year (and its the only year I'd take it because anything after would put me over 20).

If it’s an S Shop, you get regular hours and can do some serious damage towards getting that degree from AP. Not a bad way to start your transition to being a civilian
