They will have to beat SC, and I'm not sure they can.

We beat them last year. I haven't paid much attention to what they did in the off season, but I don't think they got much better. The game will be away, so there's that.

In general, South Carolina was pretty bad last year.

That bizarre ending to the Florida game saved them from a 5-7 season.

SC has better players than UK and Steve Spurrier. SC went to a bowl game and won it, SC beat Georgia. UK neither last season.

UK will beat Vandy for their only win in the East, but not by much.

If most Gator fans think that UF wins the east then they are more delusion than the Vols fans that are predicting a 10-2 season.

Both are delusional. One thing is certain: Vandy is last.

Maybe, but South Carolina's defense was trash last year.

I might not be wrong calling them one of the worst in FBS (at least, pre-bowl game).

i dont really think we win it but its up for grabs and while uga or mizzou is the logical option im hopeful a coach that doesnt totally screw up everything to do with the offense can win another game of 2 and improve on 8-5

if its not for an epic muschamp meltdown against SC where we have a punt and kick blocked in the 4th we win that one

"UK and Steve Spurrier"? Assuming you meant Stoops.

Regardless of what USCjr did last year, we still beat them. They have a lot of questions coming into next year. UK returns more, especially offensively, and I like our chances to pull off a slight upset. Change a few plays, and UK goes to a bowl game last year, and USCjr doesn't.

Okay, I will play along. Change one play in the UF game UT wins, Change one play in UGA game, UT wins, change one play in the Mizzou game UT wins, with 4 plays going in UT's favor they just got to a 10 win season. That's Fantastyland, and I don't live in Fantastyland!

I live in reality. And, in reality SC made it to a bowl game UK did NOT!!

In reality, SC had a better season than UK regardless of the upset loss. In reality, SC is closer in talent to UT than UK. In reality, UK finished 13 out of 14 teams last season in the SEC, and they will be hard pressed to do much better this season.

In reality, UK is on a 6 game losing streak, SC is NOT. In reality, SC has a coach that has 6 SEC titles and 3 10 plus winning seasons at SC which had never had any success in Football until he got to town.

When was the last time UK ever had a 10'win season? Much less three in a row. That's a small dose of reality, not fantasy.

I guess you didn't watch the UK vs UT game last season. UK and Iowa were the least talented and slowest defenses that UT faced all season, and that includes Vandy and SC.

That's what I'm saying...single plays can change a season drastically. Worely doesn't get injured, UT stays with him and we might never see Dobbs emerge. But does that Dobbs isn't good if he doesn't play? No. Perceptions and opinions changes can be hugely effected by events. UT wins a couple of those games, and yeah, that's a massive boost over 7 wins. UK wins a couple of those games, and even more of a boost.

Let's play some more. Change one play, UT loses to USC. UT struggled, with Dobbs, to beat Vandy. Vandy was one or two plays away from really scaring UT late. We could play that game all day. My point wasn't to change a season by playing make believe, but just to point out getting to a bowl game doesn't make one team automatically better than another. Especially when the head-to-head says otherwise! USCjr was up and down last year, it's not like they had one bad game against UK and other than that they were the usual USCjr we see.

No one, including me, is saying USCjr is worse than UK. But to act like UK has no chance at beating anyone other than Vandy, that's just subjectivity at its finest. "Oh UK? They'll never be good at football because they never have been!" What does the history of UK have anything to with predicting next season? I agree history is a good indicator of a programs level, but you're just using it as an excuse to throw some garbage towards UK. Vandy was historically bad, and a coach comes in and beats UT. Now they suck again, but that small window of time really bothered UT, losing like that. Winning can be done at "bad schools", Vandy proved it. Remember UK had a good run under Brooks as well. Not 10, but he was solid 7+. I've already said realistically, for right now, the best we can reach is probably becoming a 8-9 team every year, that plays a small role in the East. Maybe every 3 or 4 years having a good run, but not much more than 8-9 is possible imo. The SEC is just to good.

UK was competitive last year in all but three games. That's reality. We return almost our whole offense. Another reality. We beat USC last year. Reality. I don't see why we can't do it again. And I don't see why bashing UK's history helps your argument. UT has amazing tradition, and all it took was a coaching change to run it in the ground.

Better than whatever subjective orange basement you're stuck in. :thud:

Go back to Kentucky, it's basketball season. That's the only 4 months out of the year that any Kentucky fan should ever raise their head up to be noticed.

Good job resorting to snide remarks and generic statements about Kentucky...really helping your argument there man. :clapping:
