My Take on Erik Ainge

My take is Ainge is a great QB. Unfortunately, his struggles have come when everything is going bad. If our defense made stops then no one would be saying anything bad about him right now.

We won, so it's all that matters.

I think he's been pretty clutch this season when times were questionable.

Only thing ainge did was miss three recievers in a row. Pretty much the rest of his passes were catchable.

I was very dissapointed with the recievers tonight. They looked at times like they just wernt trying for the ball, a lot like last year.

Thats the other thing he is, he is DEFINETLY clutch. That was something you couldnt say about Erik Ainge in the past. If he just would work on his consistency, he would be very dangerous.

well, I am saying his bad passes today were at a time when our defense was letting anything go, and everyone was frustrated.

I remember he got some heat after the UF loss, but the defense let the come back.

Anyways, I am too happy to worry right now, except the injury. Couldn't have been too bad, but I'm hopeful.

Game box score at ESPN has EA 21 of 29 (72.4%) for 255 yards, 2TD, 0 INT. Nice game stats.

He completed passes to 8 different receivers.

and ESPN spent the night sniffing Syvelle Newton.

ESPN better get Granny Holthz on suicide watch. He is liable to start flapping his gums and drown.

dude, I think you might be looking for perfection & you just ain't gonna get it - not in Ainge, not in anyone. You might be kind of accentuating the negative here; I mean, Good God!...the boy's leading the SEC in a a plethora of categories with another solid performance tonite, I mean what do you want from him?

Good lord, he was 21-29 (or something close to it) for 279 yards and two TD's... at least 3 of those incompletions were catchable. If that's shaky, I'll take it.
Same.

Way too many East/West short screens.
With as good as deep coverage has been in the SEC this year, that's all we've had. And we're utilizing it.

I just hope we don't give Ainge the A-Rod treatment. No QB is perfect on every drive. Ainge this year has been nothing but clutch, showing up when it counts. And consistent almost every game, all the way through. Yeah, he's had a few mistakes. It's alright. Still a great QB.

I agree with that. He had three bad throws in a row (that are inexcusable, imho). but he came back strong and proved to be a gamer.

I'm not an ainge hater, I was just trying to give a fair observation haflway through the game.

There were several times in the 1st half that Ainge was watching the rush -- or reacting to it when it wasn't coming -- and looked unsettled. There were more than just the bad throws.

He did play better as the game went on, however. I think he did OK, but he is still struggling a little against the more press/zone blitz teams that do a good job of mixing up their coverages.

With that said, apart from 2 defensive TD's (INT and PR) SC played us pretty even.

I'll take the win, though. However it happened.

valid point. i earned the nickname "kidbourbon" from my undergrad days at UT, but now that i'm a bit older (26), I have to save the bourbon nights for special occassions.

26? Older? Yeah, you've got one foot in the grave.

again, valid point. but as i've gotten a bit older i've noticed the increasing effects of the hangover. when i was 21, i could drink bourbon all night and then wake up the next morning and prepare for an electrical engineering exam without any problem.

but now, the hangovers seem to linger a bit longer, and so my alter ego, "kidbourbon", only comes out on special occassions.

MLH is the only miller product that i enjoy. It's strange that I like MLH, but don't like miller lite. I think i'm probably in the minority in that respect.

I'm with you there, man.:eek:k:

But I think you may have meant MHL.
