To me these are the big three candidates.

John Gruden
Charlie Strong
Jimbo Fisher

fall back options

Larry Fedora
David Cutcliffe

Wild Card
Bobby Petrino

If not John Gruden, then my first choice is Charlie Strong, then my fallback would be Fedora.

Sal just has to keep the wheels on the wagon until Peyton retires. That's the plan? Right? :D

Not a bad list, but here are a few more to consider:
Mora, Petersen, Patterson, Dabo Swinney, Tuberville, Gundy, and Dirk Koetter.

My first three would be Gruden, Fisher, and Mora.

First three fallbacks: Strong, Gundy, Petersen.

My last choice, due to morality issues: Petrino (I would rather we didn't have his luggage in our closet).

You've got to be dreaming about Jimbo Fisher (sp?) He has a program a few steps away from contending for NC in a hotbed of recruiting at a school that has just as much of a football history. He would look at this as a demotion.

I've heard his name thrown out their multiple times. I agree that he ain't coming but I do think it is a name to watch out for I think. He is supposed to not be happy with the administration at Florida St. I agree though he won't come.

Charlie Strong is not what people are making him out to be as a head coach. Two tiers down from where we need to be. No.

The obvious choice is Jon Gruden. The next best is Jon Gruden. After that I would go with Jon Gruden.

If not one of the first three; call Gundy, Mora, Patterson, and Pellini.

His name has come up a few times, both realistically and sarcastically. But would it be worth it to go after Bill Cohwer (sp?). I don't have significant personal info on him I just know he would be a home run hire.
