Explain how Petrino is a cancer...He has been successful everywhere he's been...He built up a Louisville program that was a wreck...He did leave the Falcons job but who knows the situation there and he built up Arkansas to top 10 status...How is that being a cancer??...Yes he got caught having an affair but damn don't be a hypocrite because MANY men and woman have affairs everyday...Your father or mother or brother or wife may have cheated in the past, the difference is He got caught...But IF that has happened to you or if you did that and got caught didn't you forgive them over time?...Or them you?...Of course you did....If the guy wants a little poontang let him have it as long as he wins football games....After all, That is what he would be hired to do....Anyways I would support him as coach even tho I don't see it happening.

Love the stream of consciousness here. First of all, don't make any assumptions about my character or about that of my family members. Second, he left Louisville in shambles after saying he wasn't considering leaving, then he did the same to Atlanta. Finally, he hoped on a motorcycle, crashed, lied to state police and his AD, and was rightfully canned. And we see how solid the state of the Arkansas program is. For my last point, I do care if the man recruiting for my school is screwing around. Win games, but have integrity. Oh, and for the record a hypocrite says one thing but does another. I've never condoned cheating and never engaged in the act either, so there is no hypocrisy in my words. Considering his overall lack of character and inability to be truthful (on top of being widely regarded as generally unlikeable), I don't want him anywhere near the Tennessee program.

I always laugh when people think the problem with Petrino is the affair.

Butch Davis was not responsible for the mess that happened at North Carolina, and might I add that before he left to coach the Cleveland Browns at the conclusion of the 2000 season, he led Miami to three straight nine win seasons and the number two ranking in both polls, the Big East Championship, and the Sugar Bowl win over SEC Champion Florida?

Aside from allegations, why Swinney?

When he took over the job, he was regarded as an interim coach having just been promoted from the position of receivers coach. He then earned the permanent position, which is difficult to do as an interim. In his first full season, he got the team to the ACC Championship game, something Tommy Bowden never did in his decade as the head man. After one down year, he proceeded to win the ACC before running into a vastly underrated West Virginia program. Now, he has Clemson poised for a solid shot at their second BCS bowl ever. The way he turned this program into a force is admirable and shows that he can deal with adversity and produce a winning program.

Surprised to see you comment on it, I thought everybody in the state of georgia loved petrino.

He's definitely not a favorite in these parts. I don't even mind so much that he left, but you just can't possibly handle it worse than he did on the way out.

Is this a question? It reads as a statement, but to address your "question", that's all well and good, but assuming he had no knowledge of the litany of problems plaguing his program is equivalent to assuming that Calipari never knows about any of the cheating. You are in charge of that program, and you should know what's going on. As for his name not appearing in the report, that simply indicates a lack of direct involvement. It doesn't mean a lack of knowledge. If people are content with sacraficing integrity for wins, let's just rehire Kiffin and be done with it.

...and any good organization will have plausible deniability for the guy at the top.
