Mullins and Mora Jr. I don't see either of these coaches pulling a Kiffin and leaving their current coaching job after one year.
Swiney. He is a great coach and assistants love to work for him as he has in the past given up his own money to get them raises. I think he's going to stay at Clemson for a while.
Strong. He has done well at Louisville and he has SEC experience, but isn't he winning with another coach's players? Not sure about that.
If you mean Dan Mullen, he's been at MSU since 2009.
Swiney.
Hell no.
It's his third year there. Getting players like Teddy Bridgewater was all Strong.
Gruden. It's in his court. If he wants to come here, he will. If he's holding out for a pro gig, he won't.
Petrino. Will not be considered for the this UT coaching job, too much baggage.
Shaw. He's from the West Coast and I don't see him leaving. Even if he does, I would be afraid he would jump at the next West Coast job.
Peterson. Would be a good fit, but he's staying at BS with his family and his sick child.
Stoops. Won't leave OU for UT. He might use us to get more control or a raise, but that's it.
Patterson. If we don't get Gruden, Patterson should be the ADs next choice to go to. I think he would take the money to get here. He'll build an awesome D and go to a power run game, which we know wins in the SEC.

Golden. He is in a horrible situation in UM and it is getting worse. He would love to move to the SEC, but I don't know how successful he will be. He definitely won't be the 'home-run' hire UT fans want and will get a luke-warm welcome here, I'm afraid.
Strong. He has done well at Louisville and he has SEC experience, but isn't he winning with another coach's players? Not sure about that.
Fisher. He's been at FSU for a long time, so rumors of him being unhappy could be a smokescreen.
So my realistic top 5 would be:
1 - Gruden. I'd love him and he would be a rock-star hire, but I hope he isn't just stringing us along...
2 - Patterson. Proven winner and can recruit Texas well. He likes low-scoring games but he can pull close games out, unlike our last coach who fell apart at the end of games.
3 - Strong. He has SEC experience and head coach experience. He would be a good fit, but I'm afraid that UT fans might expect the rock-star hire and be disappointed.
4 - Golden. Could be great or could be very average.
5 - Fisher. Very similar to Golden.
Strong at his best is dools 2.0, when your AD has announced this is a crossroads hire you had better bring everything to the fan base. Gruden is the only answer at this point, and if the only thing that seperates the sides is control of the football program, the ad could be looking for a job if he does not work this out.
Based on our recent past I'm afraid we'll end up with someone we have to Google but hopefully Hart will get it done correctly this time. Go Vols!
1. Gruden-> not coming
2. Stoops-> not coming
3. Shaw -> not coming
4. Franklin (I know most don't like him but I'm impressed w. what he has done at
the Commode doors; as long as I can remember, Vandy was a 3 to 4 win
team; now they are out recruiting most teams) UT will not go after him
5. Fisher -> don't see him leaving FSU for UT
Who will we realistically get....with this AD.....some 'up and coming' coach from a dips**t
college which will ultimately bomb over the next 3yrs; and be fired. And we will be in the exact same position then that we are today, blogging our 'top 5 wet dream that will not happen list'. How depressing.
Maybe I will be wrong.
Top 5 'Hell NO' List:
1. Fulmer
2. Dudcliffe
3. Smart
4. Tubberville
5. Patrino
I don't understand all the Petrino love. During the interview process when they ask what happened at your last places of occupation, it should take him out of the equation.
He's a good coach, but he doesn't bring stability. Hes like that old pickup truck. It's good for hauling the trash off but you never know on each trip if its going to get you back home or not.I feel that way about Strong, he does not excite me. I was apprehensive about Petrino at first, but he wins in the SEC with average players, I put him in my top 5.
