The licensee reported to NJDEP on December 3, 2024, that a Ge-68 pin source that they sent for disposal has been lost in transit on December 2, 2024. The source is a Eckert & Ziegler model HEGL-0132, with current approximate activity of 0.267 mCi. The shipping container arrived at its destination damaged and empty. The licensee has filed a claim with the shipper. If the source is not located within the 30 days, the licensee will follow-up with a full written report to include root cause(s) and corrective actions.

"This event is reportable under 10 CFR 20.2201(a)(1)(ii)."

THIS MATERIAL EVENT CONTAINS A 'Less than Cat 3' LEVEL OF RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL

Sources that are "Less than IAEA Category 3 sources," are either sources that are very unlikely to cause permanent injury to individuals or contain a very small amount of radioactive material that would not cause any permanent injury. Some of these sources, such as moisture density gauges or thickness gauges that are Category 4, the amount of unshielded radioactive material, if not safely managed or securely protected, could possibly - although it is unlikely - temporarily injure someone who handled it or were otherwise in contact with it, or who were close to it for a period of many weeks.

I just think that they are able to tackle bigger projects from dams to space and military because their leadership doesnt get passed back and forth regularly to 2 groups that hate eachother and will stop at nothing to keep the other party from "getting credit for" accomplishing anything. Each new administration cancels as much of the previous admins projects as they possibly can...which is understandable if it's truly a matter of fiscal discipline, trying to reduce the deficit, etc...but thats never it. They both spend like drunken sailors and the waste of trillions of dollars is exacerbated by all the money wasted on half completed projects that get canceled...in addition to all the usual pitfalls. We need more vision as a nation. More longterm goals that both parties are willingly to work at diligently in order to what's best for our country and its people. The garbage MSM would have you believe that this nation is made up of 2 huge factions of people with nothing in common...when the truth is about 80% of the people are actually Centrists that share much in common with only 10% falling "far left" or "far right". We need more cooperation between the 2 parties on the things that matter to the overwhelming % of Americans in the Center. At the current rate, China will pass us in Military, Space, Engineering, etc etc.

Xi is the most insulated and uninformed leader they've had in some time, and it's because he's purged anybody who is a potential rival to him. Everybody around him is afraid to tell him things he doesn't want to hear. They have no leadership advantage whatsoever.

I’m amazed for just this the gov let public opinion spin out of control until they actually came clean.

I don't know that is what happened, but I wouldn't be surprised, either, given the Red Republic's lack of transparency on all things COVID and their well-understood view of the long game.

What were the costs to PRC? to other countries? What were the chances of success? Why not just shoot him? There were cheaper and surer ways of blocking his reelection. That theory is crazy.

Ever catch your kids doing something and they try to cop out to a much lesser offense rather than flat out denial??

" Well yes, I was out past curfew...but we never left the neighborhood." (When really they were running the streets all over town and raising untold Hell)

Part of me thinks this is that strategy. Theres so much heat on the situation now that the Feds under this inept admin feel like they have to fess up to something...but they arent gonna tell the public the actual truth because there would be outrage and panic. Especially after they willingly let over 12.5 million people and terrorists just walk into this country.

Well, they might be, but nothing interesting is "out". Just because something is radioactive doesn't make it interesting. The source that got lost is certainly not interesting.

If it actually is a search operation by some agency, they're looking for something better than that.
