Magino? Lol

Mangino?

Actually, he did not. He was offered a football scholarship at Youngstown but instead chose to play semi-pro baseball in PA (until he became an EMT).

He then later went to Youngstown for his degree.

Oh, this is so sudden; there's so many people I have to thank.

:). Sorry, it's all we had in the budget to give out this year. Next year we hope to have a scantily clad, older girl in the cup. Thanks for coming out!

played for Bear Bryant at Bama IIRC

No, he was just a student assistant.

Cutcliffe's coaching career began as a student assistant to Bear Bryant at the University of Alabama. In 1976 he took a job at Banks High School where he served as an assistant and later as the head coach. In 1982, he was hired as a part time coach at the University of Tennessee. A year later, he was promoted to full time status as the tight ends and assistant offensive line coach. By 1990, Cutcliffe was coaching the position he is now well known for, quarterbacks. Cutcliffe was promoted to offensive coordinator in 1993. As coordinator, Cutcliffe helped lead the Vols to two Southeastern Conference championships and a national championship. He also helped groom Heath Shuler and Peyton Manning, serving as their position coach.

That EMT background should be helpful when he needs one, which looks to be very soon.

Not only did Weis not actually play but he's one of the worst coaches out there.

I can make a long list of coaches that never had a ten win season to disprove this. No he is not a great coach, but he is not one of the worst coaches out there

Just checked and I was right about Leach; here's also some more:

So Mike Leach, Paul Johnson, David Cutcliffe, George O'Leary, Bobby Hauck, and Charlie Weiss (as far as current coaches go)

David played at Alabama, at least was on scholarship, until he was injured and could not play.

Everything I've read has said he was just a student assistant on the staff of one Bear Bryant's teams.

So agree to disagree?

(He did play in high school though, which some of these guys didn't)

David Cutcliffe played offensive guard at Alabama, but injuries prevented him from being a regular starter.
Cutcliffe played!!!!
