Naps -

Retired and older. I feel better if I take 15-30 minute nap in afternoon, but only do it about 3-4 days/week.
When I talk to others my age I find most people take naps.

I love naps! I usually work 1/2 day on Sunday, so after lunch I put on Red Zone, lay on the couch with my blanket and could doze all afternoon! No commercials on Red Zone really helps! Still go to bed at 10 and will fall asleep within 15 minutes.

I’m good for a 1 to 2 hour nap every morning on my days off. Couch. Tv at low volume if not off. Box fan going in hallway. Normally no couch blanket but if the blanket is used it will be 2 hour min.

I love the idea of a nap. I'm just never able to make it happen.

I would no doubt be in the same unfortunate situation if I had not realized many years ago that one should take the time to train oneself with the many and varied disciplines necessary to accomplish one's full and happy geezerhood, napping being an important one. Many folks expend a lot of time and planning to insure that they have the fiscal means to enjoy retirement and the golden years. But few take the effort required to train themselves for other important parts of the post-career years. I started training myself to nap 25 years ago, knowing that it might take a while to master the art. My long hours of work have paid off! I can now take a proper nap at almost any time and anywhere.

I'm not convinced that the wife ever bought in to my enrolling myself in Napping Boot Camp, though. She has always harbored some ridiculous notion that I was just avoiding lawn chores and household repairs. Silly girl.

They still do in parts of Spain and in many Spanish oriented countries. Siestas. Basically nothing happens between 1-3.

I can’t take naps. Severe sleep apnea makes me feel like absolute garbage if I fall asleep without a CPAP machine. I haven’t intentionally taken a nap in about 5 years.
Me too. If I fall asleep during the day I am ruint for the rest of the day.

If I take a nap during the afternoon, I’m probably not going to sleep until 5 AM lol.

I can't nap, worked night shift too long. If I take one, then I'm up all night. I get jealous of my wife, she gets one every Sunday after church 🤣
I here ya. I worked night shift for 12 long years it affected my sleep and still does occasionally even though I’ve been on first shift the last 4 years

In years past, I always have vacation days left over. They don’t rollover. It’s dumb of me. This year, I’m trying to fix that. Took a random vacation day yesterday to get a long weekend. Planned absolutely nothing. It was so quiet at the house. Did a lot of random projects, and got an hour nap. Pretty good Friday.
