In a lot of the track meets around here they have "thrower relays", where the teams are made up of the shot and discus throwers and they run a 4x100. It's pretty comical. Occasionally a team will have pretty athletic throwers who can actually run, but usually every team has at least 2 or 3 big fat guys or girls who look like it's the first "sprint" they've ever attempted.
But on the plus side (pun intended), they rarely miss a hand off.
I’m trying to not dislike this guy but the more I learn the harder it get’s.Bubba Wallace, Nov. 8, 2017:quote:There is only 1 driver from an African American background at the top level of our sport..I am the 1. You're not gonna stop hearing about "the black driver" for years. Embrace it, accept it and enjoy the journey..
I don't think Wallace did this intentionally.
I haven't gone back through all this thread (pretty long). Has anyone said that he did it?
Based on what I've heard and read about it, it was there for a while, since last fall. I doubt his was the only stall with a rope in it.
Why can't people just investigate and get the facts before letting something blow up like this is my issue.
Bubba Wallace insists 'door-pull rope' found in his NASCAR garage WAS a 'straight-up noose' - after FBI finds no evidence of a hate crime and pictures show Numerous Stalls on Talladega track with Identical door-pulls
NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace has insisted that the rope knot found in his garage was a 'straight-up noose' and said he was 'p****d' with his critics - but accepts he 'wasn't targeted' after the FBI said there was no evidence of a hate crime.
A Youtube video from 2019 showed a pull rope tied into a noose hanging from the garage door in the same stall used by Wallace and his team at the Talladega Superspeedway over the weekend. At the time the video was taken, that specific stall was being used by a white driver, Paul Menard.
Other videos from previous years revealed that the garage door ropes - or 'pulls' as they're called - were often tied into nooses as early as 2016.

I miss sports so bad I’d welcome watching that.....even as sportIn a lot of the track meets around here they have "thrower relays", where the teams are made up of the shot and discus throwers and they run a 4x100. If it was one of the technical team, I’m availableThis was a PR move. Did Bubba know about it or did someone on his PR/social media team see an opportunity without him knowing is the question. I highly doubt a mechanic or engineer that works on his car mistook a pull cord for a noose so it was someone on his personal team. Bubba needs to get off his high horse and explain what and how all this ******** got started.

Leave out @95 Vol Alum out of this! Besides, he scooters everywhere. The fat, Asian race may be my new favorite race.
Years ago a black man and client told me not to ask black people if they want to 'hang out'. It had a bad connotation, which I never would've known without someone telling me. This whole noose/hand loop/rope thing has taught me something else. It's hard to understand a person's reaction to something when you don't see it through their eyes. Hopefully, people off all stripes can take something away from this and be the better for it.
