ok heres the deal. Do sprint drivers have walnuts...hell yeah. Do SLM drivers have them....well yes they do. Comparing the two are apples to oranges. two totally different animals. It just depends on where you are as to what you are most loyal to.. Here in the deep south, Bama, Georgia, Mississippi, Eastern Tennessee, and the Carolinas, SLM is the King. West Tennessee, Arkansas, Mizzou, etc. the sprint is the main attraction. Have worked with both, I was the former tech official at Talladega Short Track, and have worked with the Southern All-Star series and BJ Parkers Summer Thunder series, as well as race Director at Birmingham International Raceway which does have a full size Football field in the infield. They are both Great races to be a part of. On a smaller track 3/8 or so SLM are the most fun to watch. On a Half mile or bigger Sprints are fun. But WoO has been srugling for some time. The past three or four years there have only been 12 or so drivers running the full circuit. They pay local drivers appearance money to fill out the field.
