Pearl has lost 2 straight in Kentucky with more to come.I'd say Nashville would want UK there more than Pearl wants to play in Kentucky.........54

but having a rival have a game in your state just because seems a little odd to me. i mean why not play it in ohio or somewhere?

"I'm just glad I don't feel the need to go to their place to play a game to benefit our program."

I love this little jab by Stallings at the end. (of course, he could just as easily direct that towards Pearl as well)

They did talk about possibly doing something in Cincinatti. In the end I think it makes more economic sense to do it in Nashville. I have not seen the numbers, but Gaylord I think is definately a better center for such an event. Nashville is a little better suited for events like this as well. and though its fact that it will sell out with UK fans in EITHER city.

Perhaps there is some other underlying reason as well.

Just stating the facts. Tennessee can't draw for the stand alone games they play in Nashville. Pretty sure a game in Louisville wouldn't do any better.

I have been to all 4 games played in Nashville. The first 2 were not well attended, the last 2 were pretty good. I haven't been to TBA in several years, but there were more fans at the Nashville games than there the last few times I went.

That being said, it's ridiculous to think UT will travel very far to see a basketball game.

The attendance numbers for the last two trips to Nashville have been inflated by the presence of MTSU and Western Kentucky one year and Vanderbilt the next. Standing alone, UT draws flys in Nashville.

Nashville city leaders have sent a formal letter of interest to Kentucky men's basketball Coach John Calipari about hosting a game between the Wildcats and an undetermined powerhouse opponent in Music City.
Calipari pitched the idea two weeks ago in an interview with George Plaster on Nashville sports radio station 104.5-FM.
"We have a lot of Kentucky fans in Nashville," Calipari said in the interview.

What's the deal with Cal and Nashville? Why would he want to play a game there since he will play Vandy every year there now? If he wants to really get creative with a neutral court game he could set something up in Anchorage.

Do you realize that Vanderbilt and Middle brought about 1,000 fans combined? That arena was all orange both years.

I'd pick The Nati over Nashville any day of the week.

Western Kentucky had about half the place filled. You might want to check your magic phone again.

WK was a little more than a third (they normally travel well), Middle did not show as well I thought they would. You could have fit Vandy's base in the East Cheatham Elementary's gym.

Did you go to any of games Hat?

No he just makes baseless assumptions like saying UT can't draw in Nashville.

I was at the Oklahoma State and Western Kentucky games. If you remove the Hilltopper fans that night, the turnout would have been only slightly less dismal than that against the Cowboys.

I love it when you flat out lie. Then again, it's all you do well. Now, go make up another fantasy ending to a game that we can all ridicule you for. It's the only purpose you serve here.

Did I say anything about Western? I said MTSU and Vandy. And there were still far more Vol fans than Western fans.
1. I mentioned Western.
2. If you look at the game thread and the accounts of the people who were actually there, including me, they dispute your feeble assessement.
I bet the Latino NBA gangs have stolen your magic phone and you can't produce the pictures that would support your position. Tragic.

Yeah, the attendance figures for the Murray State and Oklahoma State games provide no basis for my assertion. Face it. Your city sucks and not many Tennessee fans are going to waste their time coming there for basketball.
