Nate Spillman in portal

Nico is going to have to throw the ball and catch it himself at this rate. lol. I know its just depth but dang
Looks like a bunch of guys so far that barely saw the field. Everyone felt the same way about the DB turnover last year. Now here the Vols are 10-2, in the playoff. I’ll take that. They will buy players in free agency. Not worried at all.

Yeah but nobody we bring in can play in the playoff game(s), this hurts our depth at the position to lose 4 guys, even if we are bringing in Randy Moss, Jerry Rice, Marvin Harrison and TO next year. We'll probably be fine but we can't afford many new injuries in that room.

I would Salk all these guys will be available through the playoffs. They just had to submit their names in the portal by a certain date.

These guys aren’t leaving before the playoff games. They will be with us through them.

Perhaps the two tight end attack will be the preferred offensive formation, for however long we last in the playoffs...The sub players saw they were not going to be a major part of the air attack and departed...Pure logic.

So that leaves Squirrel, Brazzell, Matthews and Staley coming back and Smith, Jackson and Dodson coming in…pretty safe to say will go for at least one in the portal assuming these numbers hold

Really? That seems about as promising as letting someone who has been fired work out a notice.

Your spin is getting OLD. These guys were not fired, they did in fact turn in their notice like someone with class. It is our option to let them work out this notice. We shall have to wait and see. Bet this was no surprise to the staff. It COULD impact our scout squad.

Here's the deal. I doubt it's true that they are staying after entering the portal. Maybe they are but it would seem to be pretty awkward for all involved. That’s just common sense not "spin". As you said though, we'll wait and see if they are all on the travel roster for Columbus. I doubt they are, but it shouldn't be a problem unless we suffer additional injuries in the playoff run. Rather than caring about this particular issue though, I mostly spoke up just to scoff at the Jonestown types on here who try to act like losing 4 guys in one position group in a week is not worthy of discussion.

You brought up a question. Can we travel w more players in playoffs?

Not sure about UT WRs but I have read about players from other schools entering portal stating 'will be with team until playoffs or bowl game'. So if needed, TN can tap into some of them (Chas or Kaleb likely).

Word is they was contacting teams on the low and was still going to play and Huepel found out and put a stop to it.
