They replaced their OC with Paul Petrino, Bobby's brother. Should be head and shoulders above every offense in the SEC unless Tennessee clicks very well.

Hold up. They've lost the offensive genius of Bobby Petrino. They lost two beastly receivers and the back that's their savior is coming off of a huge injury. The offense will take a step backward from last year and the defense absolutely blows. I can't imagine that they're competitive with LSU.

Interesting that they gave Paul a chance. Thats a big statement. I may have to try and catch a Hog game this season. Has Miles come back at 100% yet? The kid is one hell of a runner.

Knile? He's back, but they're in wait and see mode on his "back"ness.

Did Lou pick ND yet ? --- I will take Oregon (guessing another crazy season of upsets)

Someone besides the TE needs to step up and fill the shoes of Adams and Wright, yes. I don't think Arkansas' returning receivers will struggle too much with this tall task.

The defense may still really, really suck, though.

why won't they struggle? They also have to replace Childs.

Don't forget, Arkansas parlayed an enormous amount of dumb luck into W's last year. By all rights, their record should have mirrored ours.

I think that this will be a breakout year for Horton. However, after losing a few other young wideouts due to arrests, I have nothing more scientific than sheer blind faith when saying that the WR situation will be fine.

Arkansas did get lucky a few times last year (the A&M game seems to ring a bell for some reason), but the wins they stole weren't from superior opponents. They were absolutely one of the ten most talented teams in the league after Alabama lifted the crystal football. Losing key players and their gifted HC could hurt, but they're not exactly coming out of nowhere here.

Will USC be like UT in regards to Strong offense questionable Defense?

I know ill probably get blasted for even putting the two in the same post.

The season is right around the corner.

Who is the early favorite?
Who is your choice?
Can anyone from the SEC make another run this year?

Bit premature, but the norm for VN.

I think LSU is going 14-0 if the quarterback isn't terrible and the team keeps focused.

and ultimately lose to Arkansas. I think this is the year for the Razorbacks to finally break through, despite losing Petrino.
Arkansas will be coached by John L Smith this year. In other words, Arkansas has no shot at a national championship.

They win even with terrible QBs - ever notice that ?

because the talent level has been obscene, especially on defense. They have had game changers at multiple positions on D for the past decade. We were once that way.

LSU is my pick. USC definitely has a shot due to a weaker schedule. Alot of folks are tossin around FSU and Oklahoma but I don't think they can stay undefeated.

FSU is loaded with talent but always under achieves. Kinda like the ACC version of Georgia.

LSU

If not an SEC team i think the Seminoles might have a good chance this year playing in the soft ACC.

I'm going with LSU over USC in the BCSMNCG, because I can't in good conscience use the words "Oklahoma" and "Florida State" in the same sentence as "national title contenders."

Big 10 is also weak - Michigan might go if they win the opener vs Alabama -- Robinson wont be an NFL qb but he is hard for the slow Big 10 teams and ND to catch. The opener vs Bama should be a good one to watch
