National Championship: LSU vs. Clemson

Yeah but the betting wasn’t. That call caused the game to stay under the O/U. Add that to the bad beats list. The dropped TD by LSU, missed FG, and the offensive PI bringing back a TD all helped this one somehow stay under or, if you took the super late action you got a push.
I got 66.5. So I won:

I disagree.

You and everyone else. Yet, no one will offer any analysis as to why.

With the kind of team Trevor Lawrence played on and he didn't play hinself into Heisman consideration? With the schedule they had.

Fields did...as a 1st year starter and a much harder schedule

I don't care how much the kid idolized Peyton Manning, he's not the next one.
He'd be very lucky to develop into an Alex Smith type player. LSU shut him completely down when they needed to. He was 18-37...less than 50 percent and he had Jusitn Ross and Tee Higgins at WR. A lot of those completions were check downs to Etienne.

Lawrence played the worst game of his collegiate career and it was a 17 point loss in the Natty. The guy will hands down be the #1 pick of the 2021 draft and will likely post another 30+ TD season.

It’s amazing how one game can totally change the future of someone’s career. I’m sure this 1 game somehow over shadows his other 3 playoff games he played in plus last year’s Natty that was an offensive blowout he led.

And he can’t control the schedule. 66% of the schedule every year is locked for conference play. His stats are pretty historical for the school and conference. The only reason his play didn’t get him in Heisman discussion was because of the schedule.

You don’t base Lawrence’s possible career trajectory on a loss to one of the best teams in College Football history. LSU’s defense stepped up.

This years LSU team will go down as one of the best overall teams in college football. When you look at their body of work this season. Beat 7 top 10 teams, Heisman QB, tough defense in SEC play. I don’t think there are many people that can deny that.
