They have a sophomore QB with no previous experience and will face #1 USC, #4 Oklahoma, #8 Michigan, #13 Michigan St, #21 Stanford, Miami and BYU. You're a lot more optimistic for Notre Dame than I am.

You really don't think they can beat Stanford...?
There is a decent chance they blow Miami out of the stadium. Miami is young on defense and may struggle at times.
They could lose those games, obviously, but they'll be in them. They nearly had Michigan beat last season. They crushed Mich St last season.
I just think they're a solid football team. I hate them, but they're pretty good on both sides of the ball. And have three good RBs and an unguardable TE.
What will everyone else be watching today? Doesn't seem to be a lot of good games. All I can come up with is...
12:00 Northwestern @ Syracuse - ESPN
12:00 Marshall @ (11)West Virginia - FX
3:30 Southern Miss @ (17)Nebraska - ABC/ESPN2
3:30 Miami @ Boston College - ABC/ESPN2
7:00 (14)Clemson vs. Auburn - ESPN
7:30 Hawaii @ #1 USC - FOX
8:00 (8)Michigan vs. (2)Alabama - ABC
Southern Miss has a new coach, Marshall/Hawaii will probably get slaughtered and I'm not sure I care about Northwestern/Syracuse. The two best looking games could be beatdowns too. Aren't most people expecting Clemson to kill Auburn? I wouldn't be surprised if Alabama shuts Denard down.
One game I am interested in and I know nobody else will be is Iowa vs. Northern Illinois at Soldier Field. I like watching their games because I live in Iowa City and all my friends are Hawkeye fans. Iowa was only 7-6 last year while Northern Illinois was 10-3. Most Iowa fans don't think it will be a game but I'm hoping it will be.
Maybe also peek in on Wisconsin/Northern Iowa. Northern Iowa only lost to both Iowa and Iowa State by like a point the last two years. Wisconsin is obviously way better but Northern Iowa is scrappy sometimes.
