Naz Oliver...

Looks like DD may have promiced his recruits playing time and left Oliver hanging. Don't know the specifics. I think Toney got more PT after the GA game. Was it Randolph that got hurt that week?

People need to wake up to just what a doofus that Dools was.

They did it to Anthony Anderson last season. Three years of many productive snaps at D-back and they move him to 3rd string WR for his senior season. Poor Fugate has been jerked around as much as any. There was your starting FB/H-Back for next season moved to 3rd string LB. Frickin stupid. Naz and Jaron available - do they play? Jaron half way through the season at dime before he beats Gordon out of nickel; after having been a walk-on RB for his first two seasons. Naz at D-back and hurt. Recovers and is moved to 4th string WR last season. Bring him back to D-back and sit him while the CBs getting scorched all season. Teague goes from a good slot WR as a freshman to a bad CB as a soph - where he stays and plays bad the rest of his games. No telling how good he would have been on O with all the things he could do like Reggie Cobb. Former option QB in high school. There were more - Hood, Jacques Smith, Z-Ro, etc. etc.

Posters should learn the game before making comments about how good or bad coaches are if they want to be taken seriously. It starts with player analysis and development. Dools was bad at it and surrounded himself with coaches that were equally bad or of whom he refused to listen. The result is we get a new head coach and staff after 3 years of the worst football in UT history.

Was Naz much of a practice player? Some coaches won't play players based on not being a practice player alone. I've never understood it as some people are great at practice while others are game players. And it makes less sense given our secondary issues.

Oliver actually tackled and kept his man decently covered all game. I don't think people are saying he would have saved this D but who knows if one of the many crucial big plays our D had let up would have happened had he been in there.

Naz has great ball skills and is good in coverage and is an above average tackler....by saying that he would have been starting and should have over coleman and grey (who got burned more than a candle) in the troy game! Naz has skills! We shall see lots of him next year

Reggie Cobb? You're comparing Teague to Cobb? Mother of pearl......

Why hasn't he played hardly any until today??? Given all our secondary struggles and injuries we had why not play him??? He played actually well today from what I saw.

Does anybody know if Justin King burned his red shirt this year? Oliver looked good today also.

I think he actually played pretty well Saturday. Why had he not gotten more reps this year with how bad out back end was? I mean it wouldn't of hurt with how bad they were

I get what you are saying, and agree that he looked pretty good, but it was UK so I'd take any success with a small grain of salt. Hopefully, this is just a good start to some heavy contributions in coming years.

Justin King definitely played this year.

Instead of Reggie Cobb, the other poster may have meant Randall Cobb, when he was saying Teague might have been that type of player for us on the O.

every one plays well vs Kentucky.

King was a wasted yr. Gave up a complete year for a few wildcat runs? WTF? Plus Tennessee must have him at LB next yr not a wildcat QB who runs 6 plays in a season!!!

Coaching malpractice if Ive ever seen it!

I completely agree with you, I feel bad for king because if he does move back to LB he will have to relearn everything and be behind, pretty much another year wasted. I just don't understand the thought process of some of our coaches.

And Greg King ... was finally getting over ailments and was making some plays this summer at LB, then when TE got thin, they moved him there and he was never heard from again. ???

And were stuck with having to watch Herman Lathers play mlb all season. The pain. I remember sitting, watching the game with my wife and on the long run uk had up the middle watching the replay and Lathers for some unknown reason after the snap turned completely away from the play. Oddest thing I've ever seen!

Maybe our coaches confused Justin King and Greg King, moved em both from LB to TE/H-back, then didn't hardly play either one? Dunno.
