Considering Golden State is up by 26 in the third quarter, I'm going to assume they will win and lock up the final playoff spot.

Cleveland won and Chicago lost tonight, so that switched up the 2 and 5 seeds in the East.

Toronto also caught a tough break with New Jersey moving up to the 6th slot. As good of a season as the Raptors have had, I dunno if they can take the Nets in a playoff series.

I'll pick the Spurs to win it all.

Too bad Tim Duncan won't get to punch Joey Crawford in the face during the playoffs.

It's hard to pick against the Mavericks with the sixth best record in NBA history, but I still have that feeling that they won't make it.

Spurs over Pistons in the Finals. Defending champion Miami will be eliminated in the first round by Chicago.

Dont they match up with Golden State in round 1 who has won 6 outof 7 and are 3-0 against the Mavs this year? That should be a great series.

There is also the angle of the Warriors coach, Don Nelson, being the former Dallas coach.

My money would be on the Mavs. They kinda remind me of the Colts in that they always have a great regular season and then fall apart in the playoffs. Colts did it this year and so will the Mavs. My sleeper team if you call them a sleeper is the Bulls.

Which is probably the reason Golden State has been so successful against Dallas.

Its time for Lebron to take over boys and girls.
If the Eastern Conference is so bad that the Cleveland freakin' Cavaliers played their way to a two seed with LeBron's worst season so far, all LeBron has to do is switch it on and Cleveland will breeze to the conference finals.

It will come down to the Spurs or Mavs. The winner of that series will win it all.
That's what they said last year. Whoever wins the Western Conference will probably be so beat to hell that the Detroit or possibly Cleveland will have easy pickens'. I'd bet that the eastern champs will have played 7-8 games fewer than whoever comes out of the west.

Whoever comes out of the West should be ashamed if they can't beat Cleveland in a 7 game series, no matter the circumstances. I'd almost put Detroit in that group, but at least the majority of those players have won it all before. Not exactly sure Flip can do it, though.

I believe Miami's team last year wouldn't lose a game in the East playoffs this season.

I'd give them 2-3 losses in the east playoffs this year.

And assuming Cleveland is good enough to beat Detroit in a series of 7, they are also probably good enough to beat a tired San Antonio/Dallas. I'd say a fresh Detroit and worn down Spurs/Mavs are probably about equally tough.

Go Bulls.

Yeah, I know they don't have a shot, but at least we will kick the crap out of Miami in the first round.

There's no chance of Cleveland winning the NBA finals.
Dwayne Wade is an incredible talent on a team with a bunch of over the hill has-beens. LeBron James is an incredible talent on a team with a bunch of never-will-be's. If the Heat last year got hot and won the NBA Finals, the Cavs can do it this year if they get a win streak. And it's not like they'll have any trouble coming out of the east, they're the 2 seed for a reason.

On the record: My pick to win the east is Detroit, but I would not at all be suprised to see Cleveland win it.

I assume you're including Shaq as one of those "over the hill has-beens" that helped lead the Heat to a world championship last year. I'll agree, O'neal is definitely past his prime, but having a dominant big man is key to winning a world title. Other than MJ's Bulls teams (and each of those teams were far better than the Cavs), there's not another franchise in the past 25 years that won a title without a good big man...and Ilgauskas just doesn't qualify as a good big man.

I'm with you though...I like the Pistons in the East, but I won't be suprised if Miami gets hot and makes it back to the finals.
