NBA Playoffs

Spurs and Mavs going down would really help out the Suns. Don't see it happening but you never know. The Suns didn't look good at all.

Let me try this again. The Bulls are up 2-0 on the world champion Miami Heat. Dang, that Deng is pretty darned good.

Lakers are getting pummeled by 25. I love it.
It's like watching a kid get beat up. Kind of sad really. Even though Kobe Bryant is the best player in the NBA, you can't expect a team where his supporting cast consists of Kwame, Kid Bynum, Jordan Farmar, Lamar, Smush and VladRad to even come close to winning a series in the west.

arguably the best player in the NBA and he shouldn't have run Shaq off. He got what he wanted. No doubt it's his team.

He wanted to play first fiddle on a team with some talent. Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce don't think Kobe has enough talent around him.

The NBA doesn't issue an award to the "Best Player". It issues a Most Valuable Player award. That man, as in the past two seasons, is Steve Nash. The Suns are unbelievably tough with him, and they lost every single game this season without him. It's pretty tough to make a legitimate argument that anybody else is more valuable to his team than Nash. Having said that, I fully expect them to give the MVP award to Nowitski this year.

Kobe Bryant is the textbook example of a ball hog, and I love seeing him get drilled. In the first game of the Suns/Lakers series, he repeatedly forced up shots in 1 on 3 and 1 on 4 situations in a half court set. Newsflash, Kobe! When you're driving the ball toward the basket and there are 4 guys defending you, 3 of the other 4 guys on your team have WIDE OPEN shots. Kobe obviously never learned to share as a child.

I don't believe many talented players want to play with him or his ego.

You can't sit here and tell me there aren't many all-star caliber player that wouldn't go to Los Angeles... Hell, the Lakers almost got Jason Kidd at the trade deadline. They would have been a force by now if that went down.

I disagree. Jason Kidd would make them a better team, but without a bigger, better presence inside and another scorer, they couldn't take it past 6 against any of the top 4 seeds.

and while I am at it, let me say that Barbosa may be the most deserving 6th man award winners I have seen in years.

Lebron will be a better player than Kobe by next season...

I was a bit worried about Suns/Lakers after last year but this looks good. Almost wish I was still back in Phx to try and catch a game.

I'm with you Milo...Kobe's the best player in the league right now, and probably will be for another 2,3, or 4 years. The Lakers can not continue to waste his prime by surrounding him with these young players...and Lamar Odom is not enough help. It's like watching Kobe try to lead a college lineup into the NBA playoffs.

The Lakers need to move Bynum, and maybe even Odom, and try to get Garnett in LA.
