I think Tennessee will land multiple players from North Carolina. Pruitts staff has made the state of North Carolina a high priority to this point, and while Tennessee still is awaiting its first commitment from the Tar Heel State in the 2019 class, the Vols efforts there seem likely to pay off in the long run.
All signs point to the Vols having a legitimate shot at landing some of their top targets in North Carolina in the 2019 class. That includes five-star athlete Quavaris Crouch of Charlotte, N.C., and four-star Charlotte wide receiver Khafre Brown, the younger brother of North Carolina freshman receiver Dyami Brown. Some close to Browns recruitment believe his decision could come down to the Tar Heels and Tennessee in the end.
The Vols also are strong contenders for three-star defensive end/linebacker Terrell Dawkins of Concord, N.C., four-star cornerback Tyus Fields of Cornelius, N.C., three-star linebacker Derek Boykins of Concord, N.C., and three-star cornerback Shyheim Battle of Rocky Mount, N.C. And theyre still in the running for three-star offensive tackle Triston Miller of Charlotte, elite defensive end Savion Jackson of Clayton, N.C., four-star defensive tackle C.J. Clark of New London, N.C., and three-star linebacker Drake Thomas of Wake Forest, N.C., among others.
Tight ends coach Brian Niedermeyer and quality control analyst Montario Hardesty, a former Tennessee running back and North Carolina native, are among the coaches who have helped the Vols build some strong relationships in North Carolina over the past several months. It appears they could pay big dividends in the coming months.
