We're losing a number of DL after this season so we're looking to sign several.

Thought I remembered reading somewhere that there was some speculation that this kid was near/at the top of the DL board? I know it was stated that he was ahead of Page on the board. Not sure if all of that is true, but remember reading it

Helll no. He's already gone from an 85 to an 87 since committing in just a couple months. He's a 4* after this season. All to say - he's pretty darn good and a sleeper in this class. Also has nice NC connections.

We'd really have to load up to think about doing that.

I really hope/think the staff finds a redshirt in that huge group of guys, like they did Brandon Johnson last year. Play 4 games, sit, then be THE MAN and the vet in your last year and max out your exposure. With the new redshirt rules, I think going forward, this is the way.

Would love for them to do this with Bumphus and Butler. Sit both the terrible 3 non conference games and Vandy. Play Butler in 4 games and Bumphus in other 4 games.

Really doubt Butler sits. Could see Bumphus and Savion Williams doing that out of the Senoirs.

It's all about what he grows into. He wouldn't be the first HS TE to grow into an OT. The "Butch move" was signing undersized OL with no good strength and conditioning program to bulk them up. Bell is an athlete. He has the potential to grow into several positions. It's up to the staff to figure out where he fits best, and OL is not out of the question.

He doesn’t have the wide frame for an OT. Watch his film then go watch Pounds and Mimms. Bell is a SDE at 285-295 range with long reach and athleticism. Pounds and Mimms will play at 325 or so

Butch had so many OL get hurt or transfer. We are just now recovering from the shambles he left Pruitt. In Jones’ first 4 recruiting classes, these are the only OL recruits that finished all eligibility: Robertson, Thomas, Kendrick. His 5th class has been better - but likely due to Friend and Fitzgerald developing the players. Obviously Smith is great, but Locklear and Calbert are spot starters at this point. So unless something changes, Jones’ 5 years of OL classes produces one drafted player. The fact that UT is looking at one of the best OL in the SEC after 2 years is indicator of Pruitt as a coach.

If you can tell that from watching some grainy high school highlight film, then you would make a fortune guessing people’s weights at the fair.
