Not that I don’t have faith in Inge.
But I would like to see Banks hand around at least 2 more years
Oh I would too. But the way this defense is performing, it would be a borderline miracle if he's here next year. If he wants to be a HC, he should strike while the iron is hot.

Would LOVE to be wrong. Maybe he'll be like a Brent Venables and wait around for a really long time for the perfect job to become a HC.

“The atmosphere was clutch,”

“It was insane. I was flabbergasted. I was like ‘oh my gosh.’ It was so crazy. I was amazed. I was having the best time, so much fun.”

“Honestly I loved everything,”

“The people were great at Tennessee, the fans were great. The coaches here are really great people. Coach Heup, Coach Garner, Coach Banks, Coach Chop, just great people."
“That’s what’s making Tennessee thrive, it’s the coaching. The people here are great. I’m really impressed. I had to come down here, come check it out. I’m from North Carolina, so I’m like, ‘Tennessee, ok, that’s back woods,’ that’s what I thought. But they have a great culture here, great football culture and just a great culture overall."

“Especially on the God part, that really came forth for me. I give glory to God in everything and at Tennessee I see that they give a lot to God. Big props to Tennessee. Still going to see how things go on the recruiting trail, but I had a great time. It was a fun visit.”

Yeah. How's that "perfect job" at Oklahoma working out for Brent?

With the DC basically being the head coach of the defense and what Banks has been able to do, I imagine the DC job would get a lot of interest. Obviously working with a staff of Garner, Inge, Chop, etc helps
If I had to guess Inge would be the internal hire to DC when Banks becomes head coach. Garner is happy and isn't going anywhere with his daughters at UT, Chop could fill in at the safety coach replacing Banks if nothing more than his recruiting ability and promoting Ayers to Senior Defensive Analyst. I'm just running a quick scenario with little thought so this could sound stupid.
