'25 NC DL Isaiah Campbell

As soon as Isaiah Campbell decommitted from Clemson, well, honestly, even before the announcement, there was some buzz around Tennessee. This goes all the way back to before he committed, then when he committed, the Vols were still in contact with the four-star defensive lineman out of Durham (N.C.) Southern.

He backed off the pledge, he took an official visit to Knoxville earlier this month and the Vols have increased their lead over North Carolina. Clemson is still in communication with Campbell, but North Carolina is viewed as Tennessee’s completion. He still has an official visit to Chapel Hill in November, but the SEC program in Knoxville is going to be tough to beat.

Call me a Homer all you want but I just cannot see UNC beating us out here. Unless he just really wants to stay home. Because UNC sucks and I am pretty sure Brown and his staff are dead men walking. Meanwhile we are producing one of the best DLs in the nation.

My confidence level is high.

No I think Tennessee has momentum here. Just noting that NC is not going to let him get away without putting up a fight. As of now, he is scheduled to be on an OV there later in the month and they are going to get their final shot. I like the Vols chances, but I am not ready to completely write off the home-state program just yet either.

Have we ever scored 100 in 3rd QTR before?

EDITED TO ADD

OOPS, bouncing back and forth between the boards.

Isaiah Campbell and Tennessee continue to trend in the right direction. He maintains he will take the North Carolina visit after there was some chatter that he might not late last week. The Tar Heels have been working hard to make sure they get one last shot at their local kid. You certainly cannot discount them and we do not believe anything is done for Tennessee as of Thursday night, but the Vols do seem to have the most traction here.

The recruitment of Isaiah Campbell continues to line up nicely for the Vols. North Carolina is working to keep him home, and as of now, he is planning to take an official visit to Chapel Hill during the weekend of November 16th. We are not ready to discount the home-state program, but we believe the trajectory of the program and the football fit on Rocky Top continues to make more sense to the elite defensive lineman.

I like our odds, but the only thing that worries me is Mac Brown leaving and them getting some momentum from the new guy being able to sell the future. worst case would be the new coach is someone who was already recruiting him, and finally gets to sell "his version" of the team.

UNC is not going to get a home run hire. Mac Brown is a hall of fall coach that had them preforming above their average.
