'21 NC DT Payton Page (Clemson commit)

Imma just call it now. Clemson gets tired of waiting and goes after Katron Evans or some other 4-Star, we get a silent out of him in August and he plays up a top 3 of us, UGA and North Carolina to pick us on the early signing period. And all of our fans will be worried for 4 months despite us having an 100% crystal ball on 247

EDIT: also by that point they will have dropped him to a 4 star and made whoever Georgia got a 5 even if he was barely a top 200 player 6 months prior
Dead on, IMO. The bias of the recruiting services to whom they perceive as blue bloods is obvious and insulting to the players.

The Heels are really feeling the momentum right now. They are laughing at our chances with this kid and are actually relishing the fact that it could be between US and them . That whole Triad area is tough to pull kids away from, so hopefully Graham and Brumbaugh will do some work.

If we’re losing kids like Page to UNC, it doesn’t bode well for this staff.

I wish that UNC didn't play in mid major football conference so I could celebrate them not living up to the hype. After the first two games their schedule is nothing. They might be able to get things rolling in the ACC.

I'd bet Clemson will take this kid on NSD if he wants in.

Doesn't mean we don't have a shot, but it won't be because Clemson "moves on".

Their schedule is a joke after UCF and Auburn. The thing is that they think they were mere points away from a NY6 game because they had close games. They are basically spinning their season as the best .500 season ever.

I agree, but in towns like Greensboro, Durham, Rocky Mount it’s really difficult to get them away from Chapel Hill. The further South and West you go it’s typically turns into a free for all of SEC schools and Clemson .

I don’t understand how you would pick UNC over us unless it were a distance thing. We are better in nearly every category. Go down the list of what we offer compared to theirs and it’s not close, and we haven’t even won an SEC title in 22 years.

Good. Let em laugh now.

Mack is rolling at UNC right now in recruiting. He can sell his freshman QB who balled out last year. He just flipped Maye from Bama so he has Howell’s successor. He’s pushing instate pride thing very well. And of course Clemson is Clemson. Vols are likely 3rd right now in the Page race and it’ll be an upset if he ends up in Knoxville. Hope he does.

Well Tennessee fans laugh at UNC as a relevant football program soooo yeah

Mack Brown has always been an ace at selling a program and talent has never been the issue. Energy and stagnant schemes has. At the end of his days in Austin, he enjoyed being the HC of the University of Texas but not head coaching the University of Texas...and he was a much younger man when he started there and at UNC the first go round. I see a 5 year window of renewed vigor and one of those has been spent. This isn’t to disagree with the talent grab others are foreseeing, I just believe it’ll be short lived and recruits are the first to notice.
