'21 NC DT Payton Page (Clemson commit)

What I’ve heard recently suggests Tennessee has a legitimate shot with Page. Not ready to say the Vols are the team to beat or anything like that, but I think they have improved their chances quite a bit recently. Clemson looked like the favorite for months, but it sounds like it’s a real battle now.

I imagine Venebles will be a head coach sooner rather than later. Isn’t Clemson’s DL coach getting up there in age, too?
Keeps passing up opportunities. He's happy where he's at. Only chance, IMO, would be a top tier program throwing obscene cash at him.

As far as I understand it, Venebles has zero ambition to become a head coach. He's comfortable in the Dabo cult. His kids play on the team, etc. He'll likely be DC until he retires.

I understood it as he wasn’t going to entertain the whole HC gig thing until his kids graduate.

I have my hopes it starts this year with Gooden, Solomon, and Middleton. Then maybe the following year for Emerson. But I can say with certainty that with the likes of Thomas, Bailey, Katron, and hopefully Page.... we're about to start churning out some NFL big uglies.

I can respect that. Just rare that you don’t see more ambition in a guy that’s been as successful as he has.

Its been discovered here before. Apparently he is very happy as a dc and has turned down several p1 offers.

Yup. That same post by an Auburn mod would be...Tigers are way out front, it’s only a matter of time before it’s official.
Honestly I’m glad it’s that way. Price is the only one that is half way a homer. But even he does a good job of not ruining moments or letting that homerism mislead the fan base.

Auburn and USCjr consistently mislead their fan base by stating they lead when in reality they don’t. They then begin backtracking when things become evident the kid won’t go to their school.

Niebuhr will say something alike “We have been hinting for a few weeks now that the staff values player y more than player x. With that said, I doubt the staff would turn away a commitment from player x but I don’t feel they are truly pushing there like they are with player y.”

When in reality Niebuhr has been pounding the table about player X for months.

He just did this exact same thing with Salter and the other Texas QB Davis. And the idiots in the plains are either to dumb or blind to even notice.

This guy has had me thinking he was ours, nope going to Clemsuck, no wait he's ours again.

Say what you will about Callahan but at least you know what he says is legit info. Also page may have gotten overweight but he is still a 5 star talent and I will always prefer a guy who has to keep his weight down than the other way around. Also he will get a big bump if he plays his senior season at a good weight
