Typically, it means that some of the other offers are not committable. Maryland and West Virginia are two examples of schools that benefit from that. Have no idea if that is the case here. Usually there is some red flag that makes the "big offers" hesitant. So the player takes the offer from the school that is thrilled to get a talented player.

Maryland and WVU are not the same. Tons of teams wanted Rakim Jarrett.

Similar situations when they get highly ranked players. Did not say the same. WVU is usually players with major grade concerns. Maryland does occasionally get a player that other major programs were heavily pursuing. But on the average there is 'smoke' there as so how hard the big programs are going after them.

Yeah he’s nowhere near elite when it comes to Xs and Os but he draws in talent.

If he were to hit on an up and coming coordinator on either side of the ball they could be a real consistent thorn in the BIG elites’ sides.
