'25 NC OT David Sanders (Tennessee commit)

We'll have to look at the portal for OL if for no other reason than depth. Let's say all of our starting OL are already on the team. I don't think they are, but let's pretend. We'll still need at least a couple of more just for depth purposes, in case of injury.

OL is just looking more and more like a weakness. It's held us back at times this year with its inconsistency, and next year, Nico Year 2, it's looking even scarier. At some point you have to look at Elarbee and wonder how much is coaching? How long can he ride on the success of Darnell Wright?
Elarbee also developed Cooper Mays.

Elarbee also developed Cooper Mays.
That's two, in separate years. You realize an OL is 5 people, right?

Jokes aside, the guy has trouble recruiting. And thus far, his high school recruits haven't really shown they can contribute. Getting Sanders was a big win for him, but if he loses Sanders....

Part of our struggles this year have been inconsistent OL play. I'm not calling for his head. At least not yet. But he needs some help.

I get what you are saying but ask Florida St how going full on mercenaries turns out. You can add a piece or two..... But you can't build your line with mercenaries. Is a bad idea.
Anybody with 1/2 football brain will tell you good OL development takes 2-3 years. This is why recruiting and development are so important and this staff has failed miserably at it!

Marcus, he's the only OT in this class. I'm not so sure "plenty do". And I can't help but wonder if it has something to do with Elarbee since by most accounts our NIL is very comparable to other programs.
It isnt just this year either. We have missed on lots, lots of OT, and G. The 'lets take a guy' approach doesnt cut it.

He's checking out Ohio State's medical school?
This is the word our of Columbus his parents are super involved and this seems to be a driving force behind the trip.

UT has a good medical school, but OSU has legit top of the food chain medical facilities/programs. They get so much more research grants than UT and invest it heavily back into their RnD

If sanders really thinks this is that important, he may indeed flip. If he is up there just trying to force UT the give him more then UT has a chance to keep him

From the Ohio St on3

Sanders is currently a Tennessee commit, having pledged to the Volunteers over the Buckeyes back in August, and seemingly locked in with the Checkered Orange since then. So why the visit to Columbus this weekend?

With Sanders and his parents still on their trip to Ohio State, I don’t have a for sure/definitive answer, but in talking to multiple sources with knowledge of the trip, this is absolutely a business trip and not “just a visit to see a big game“. I’m not sure if anything changed on the OSU side re: upping a NIL package or anything of the sort, but as one source put things, “I think as we get closer to this being for real with the Early Signing Period, there were some second thoughts about Tennessee being the best fit for him. He’s always loved Ohio State and the academic program (medical field), as well as his fit in the culture there. I think he wanted to get back and make sure he makes the right decision on December 4.”

There is still more digging to do about this recruitment once the visit is over, but when it comes to that upcoming final decision, the initial word I’m getting is that there is a strong chance of Ohio State pulling off the flip. “Really high chance this happens,” once source put it. “Want to see what happens after he returns home from this visit, but there is a real shot of a flip,” said another source. “David and his family are really enjoying themselves and feeling very much at home. I think deep down he knows maybe this is where he’s always belonged.”
One thing I’ve learned throughout this recruitment is never to listen to any OHST On3 mod because they have no idea. They had no idea when he committed to us and they have no idea now. They are all homers and know nothing.

Well, then his parents are lying and they did a two day tour of the facilities. Maybe for him it isn't as many cuz but his parents it seems to be a thing

I can only tell you what is being said. He wasn't there for one day , he was there for three according to the report from buckeye scoop podcast.

Those two guys are well connected (one being a former. All American there) and are usually good about these things

Sounds like a bunch of homerism

'These two', @KingVFL and @MetalVolunteer?

Yes he and his parents were there for multiple days, yes, i'm with you. All that is true.

What i'm saying is you dont just wait until last hour to simply tour facilities. He'd been down this road with OSU and us, and we got the nod.

Something happened, something changed.

Anyway, really hope Davis chooses Vols. We need a player of his talent here.

Frustrating to be in this situation, yes. Onward we go.

Dude if you have ever been to college in your life and understand what it takes to become a nurse, PA, or Doctor you would realize your 4 year is most likely some type of biology degree…Both universities offer it and it matters not where you get it as long as your gpa is high. What you read from the On3 Ohio state writers was word salad..
