I don't blame anybody for going thru every option available to them while they opportunity exists to do so. this is not only a big decision because choosing a college is really the first big life decision many teenagers make, it's now a decision that can set you up, potentially, for the rest of your life financially.....so the scope of the decision warrants the diligence.
that said, if it is an agent or something that's driving this and not him or his family, that's a little disappointing because he chose here for a reason. and those reasons really haven't changed. if anything, they have to have been enhanced with where Tennessee is as program these days, where the athletic department as a whole is, and the trajectory is as good as it's been here, maybe ever, if you take everything in to account.
there's something to this that is more than just the actual $$$ number, this has to be something to with how that will be set up, distributed, duration, and/or assurances. i can't imagine for the type of money this kid is valued at, that the bottom line $ figure is all that's in play here.
at the end of the day it's his decision and not the agent, and we've never seen/heard anything about him or his family that says "highest bidder wins".
they've done their due diligence, and i expect/hope this is just more of that. That this is just a "hey, let's go make sure Tennessee is the right choice" type thing.
hope it works out. we do need this one to stick.....
