'25 NC OT David Sanders (Tennessee)

I’ll be honest, it took everyone by surprise up here when he committed to Tennessee. We were hearing equally re-assuring things as Vol Nation was. He was extremely close with the staff, loved the culture, loved the city, etc. I wouldn’t surprise me at all if he ends up being a Buckeye. There’s few programs in the country who can compete with The Ohio State University. Indiana and Tennessee are two that cannot.
You’re out of your damn mind if you think anyone loves Columbus lmao

I get your point, but if you’re honestly going to sit there and tell us that if you were a recruit and know that you can squeeze a few more 0s out of a school by suggesting you might flip and you’re not going to do that because “you gave us your word,” then I certainly applaud your humility, but the rest of us will be laughing on our way to the bank.
I get that and I would be all about the $ too but at want point is it enough when the $ stops or not enough to get other big time recruits? I mean then you'll look like the Dallas cowboys for example. One guy getting all of the money and he's average at best and the team is completely garbage cause he's not a true franchise QB to not have pieces around him. I'd say eventually these guys paying this big $ will eventually get frustrated. It will take a bit, but all I'm saying is these guys we don't even know if they be any good. I would still want to win as well while yeah, getting paid a good amount, but is college your ceiling or is it the NFL for these guys

If someone tells you it's not about the money it's about the money.
Always about the money. You won’t find a kid in the NIL Era doing it for peace of mind. Doubt many care for a title as long as they are well compensated and have a shot at the league.

If I’m an 18 year old who’s never seen that amount of money in my life? Absolutely. Today’s generation doesn’t give a damn about reputation, they care about the money. And as a fan who hates that but also knows he’s never going to stop watching the sport, well then I say “that’s just part of the new order of things.”
Every generation cares about money don’t kid yourself.

1) people from every generation care deeply about money

2) honestly with as much as the older generations making all the decisions have F’d everything up and made it nearly unaffordable for young people just starting out, I wouldn’t blame them if it was just all about the money

See why it’s silly to stereotype an entire generation?

Everyone except us by surprise when he committed. As a man that spent all my summers in ohio and all my family from ohio. Ohio f’in sucks.

They didn’t necessarily say that…they said it wouldn’t surprise them if that’s what he does but it was a definitive “he’s going to go silent”
dude, here the context doesnt matter.

Peaceful Buck is no more bra.

the fact that Uncle Austin is being that confident, openly. Coupled with his tempering during process...great family, handled things well, going silent. Pay attention, no one else is saying those things.

OSU mod doesnt know **** from shinola. Wilteddong is guessing. Charlotte is a regional City to Knoxville.

Tells me its close. Tells me Austin is in contact.

If people are surprised by us landing big time recruits, they are just being naive with blinders on. Yes, we went through a rough 15 years or so through the wilderness, but we are A) a traditional powerhouse with deep history with 6 National Championships, B) have unlimited resources, C) some of the best facilities and one of the best stadiums in the country, D) game day experience matched by no other school, E) are one of the hottest programs/universities in the country with an upward trajectory, F) have an outstanding NIL, and G) we happen to play in the best conference in the nation. We have been in the Top 10 and in the playoff hunt the past 2 out of 3 years, and will be consistently for years to come. We will win a National Championship very soon. Plus, Ohio is the armpit of America. Literally no one wants to be there. If a player chooses to go play in that cold, gray, **** hole of a state, then its literally only about the money.

Damn it, TrapVol.
Yeah, you’re right. I shouldn’t feed the troll. Sorry, the arrogance just gets under my skin. 🤷‍♂️

Edit: OK, did PeacefulBuck get banned or something? This thread moves so fast and I don’t have time to read every single post.

I seen that as I continued through the thread

Just reading between the lines from listening to AP, Hubbs, Matt Ray etc.

It seems like they believe he WANTS to be at Tennessee but agents, family, etc may be pushing Ohio State.

We will see who wins out in the end
maybe, maybe its exactly what it is. a business move, and posturing. its absolutely a high level negotiation technique.

Looking back over the last couple months this has “adult” (agent, parents, etc) written all over it to me.

I don't blame anybody for going thru every option available to them while they opportunity exists to do so. this is not only a big decision because choosing a college is really the first big life decision many teenagers make, it's now a decision that can set you up, potentially, for the rest of your life financially.....so the scope of the decision warrants the diligence.

that said, if it is an agent or something that's driving this and not him or his family, that's a little disappointing because he chose here for a reason. and those reasons really haven't changed. if anything, they have to have been enhanced with where Tennessee is as program these days, where the athletic department as a whole is, and the trajectory is as good as it's been here, maybe ever, if you take everything in to account.

there's something to this that is more than just the actual $$$ number, this has to be something to with how that will be set up, distributed, duration, and/or assurances. i can't imagine for the type of money this kid is valued at, that the bottom line $ figure is all that's in play here.

at the end of the day it's his decision and not the agent, and we've never seen/heard anything about him or his family that says "highest bidder wins".

they've done their due diligence, and i expect/hope this is just more of that. That this is just a "hey, let's go make sure Tennessee is the right choice" type thing.

hope it works out. we do need this one to stick.....

I think if this is true, he will end up here. His family is very invested, at the end of the day, I would hope that they would let him go with his heart.

What if Nico asked Sanders what it would take to get him to Knoxville.
Maybe Nico would give up some of his NIL money 💰?
I know that’s crazy 🤪 and it’s not gonna happen.
I’m just really wanting Sanders at UT.

According to the Ohio State board (eleven warriors) there is a lot of optimism that he will come back again to Columbus this weekend for the Michigan game- what I’m reading on here doesn’t point to that. Anyone know?
