'19 NC RB Quavaris Crouch (Tennessee signee)

"This just doesn’t seem like it would get Yurcich that much closer to his apparent goal of becoming a FBS head coach. If you’re on the precipice of getting a head gig — and maybe you aren’t, who knows — but if you are, and if the reason for getting to that precipice has been high-flying offenses that score a ton of points, then do you really want to go to … Tennessee?"

Ouch, lol. By all means, Mr. Yurcich, stay in Stillwater.

One of my best friends is an ok state fan and he literally got hype when I told him he was an option. Wanted him gone that bad

Man those cats are delusional. How many pts they need to be happy? 50 a game I guess? Do they think they are Oklahoma??

Even their 247 mod was ragging on the NegaOkies. He couldn't understand the dislike.

My only logical thought is they came off having Holgorsen and Monken when their spread was way ahead of the game. Then Yurcich came in and they had a good 1st season, but struggled season 2 and people wanted him fired. All great seasons since. I expect they never put the bad taste from year 2 out of their mouths.

Even with one of the best b12 offenses, right up with the mightily beloved Klingsbury. Only OU has clearly better offense and they have triple the talent from recruiting.

Tennessee would hire a guy with 1 year experience as OC at Southeastern university

On top of having the #1 offense in that division, he also called 40-50% of plays at UCF and was PGC at Baylor for 2 years. Long history at Baylor, I suspect he could run the Briles offense pretty close to true. He's been groomed by Briles and now Heupel. I could get on board. That's simply an offense that produces.

Keep in mind it's not that difficult to rack up yards and points in the No Defense conference... gonna be a bit of a shock when there are suddenly DB's actually in position that can't just be run past.

Yeah...we showed West Virginia what that is like. And UGA did to OU last year too! Maybe part of it is their offenses are also ahead of the rest of college football. That sure helps, while sec has been stuck in old man football for too long.

I think this is one of those situations where stats don't tell a complete story. Just looking at numbers, Memphis was a top 5 offense, and they ended the season basically running the wildcat every play. Fans of a team have a better feel for how they are actually developing, or not. Plus, I think it's fair to assume that a lot of their offense is actually Gundy.

Chaney and Pittman are a package deal. That’s as good as it gets. If they were to come here, I’d have full faith that in three years we would win at least ten games. That’s how special that duo is. UGA has no idea what they have in those two guys. UGA fans rather complain about not winning a NC then appreciate how unreal an offensive staff they have.
So what happened when they were here before? How many years do you think it will take them to get the kinD of talent they have at UGA?

Still not sold, we will see what happens

They have the same offense, 1 reason Gundy said he hired him.

"fans" are doubtful to have a clear picture as they all hate their oc. UGA fans wanted chaney gone for goodness sake.

A more accruate picture is what their mod, an unbiased observer, stated - he has simply produced! Thats all I care about! Hate him all we want if we are putting up those numbers.

OKST fans also were talking bad about Gundy before the year starts for lack of recruiting.

For a school that gets middle level talent and they always seem to have some of the top skilled position players and QBs that put up numbers i say they do a decent job of developing talent. There is not a ton of talent in Oklahoma or surrounding states compared to the amount of football schools that are more attractive places to go than OKST.

Yup, it would be awesome to see what he could do here with our ability to recruit and Pruitt's defense once he gets some studs on the field.

Their last season here we lost games that we scored 31, 35, 44, and 48.

Maybe they can sit in on defensive meetings as well.

The answer was it took Chaney till year 4 to field a really good offense here. Of course, they had Dooley going against them.

He was ok at Arkansas. At UGA, ok 1st year then an explosion with, surprise, top 3 recruiting classes and top QBs.

Hes pretty good, but not sure he can get an offense to play above its talent level, which should be the point - bring added value.

If they don't take a huge leap in talent it's not gonna matter.

This idea that your gonna come in and out coach your talent consistently is a farce in this league.

UGA we had Bray slinging 50/50 balls all over the place and the pucks he threw lost the game.
Most of what Bray did against SC came in the 4th quarter. Couldn't fault SC for resting on the lead and being distracted after what happened to Lattimore.
MO was a 4OT slap fight between 2 teams that finished the season with losing records.
The MSU game was a solid effort against a tough State team and the game in which we s ores the least of those you mentioned.

I guess people can blame the defense or Dooley, but I figure these guys had 3 years here. Don't want to go back to the future. I also don't think they're leaving UGA unless it's to go to Bama.

Well if we re going to add in ability to recruit better players than we ve had, I ll take the SEC experienced Chaney.

I'm not against Yucrich, but he seems like a big leap from what Pruitt claims he wants. His short and successful career to date comes under a guy that was putting up points before he was there. Thats not to say he cant coach but it's not like he fixed something like he ll be asked to do here.

I'm curious to see if Pruitt can leave him alone during a change year

Uhmm, these aren't mutually exclusive. You take every bit of added value you can get.
On the one hand your asking what Chaney can do with less talent but then talk of how awesome it would be with Yurcich being able to recruit better players that we currently don't have.

Yurcich lost 2 games this year after he put up 42 and 47. I guess he ll at least be used to it.

Yep, I've seen that firsthand. Which was why I was totally happy with Gundy being in the mix last year during the HC search. They do have the ability to identify and develop the "diamonds in the rough" and make impact players out of them.

James Washington and Justin Blackmon for example came out of HS as 3 Star receivers. Both went in the first two rounds of the the NFL draft.

Taylor Cornelius was a PWO QB and had 3,600 yards of passing this year and 28 TDs.

The staff at OSU can develop offensive talent. I'd be perfectly happy with Yurcich.
