Not even close. Vols have nabbed top-10 overall players plenty in the past. Eric Berry ring a bell to you?
That was 11 years ago. Things have changed a ton sense then. We were coming off a 9 win season and we were competitive every year. Today were coming off of a 4 win season and havent been to an sec championship game in 11 years.
For this guy to even consider us is as historic as trump meeting Kim
... Quavaris Crouch is tough to rank. Ive heard comparisons with Von Miller on defense, which I dont think are accurate. He reminds me of a bigger Ernie Sims, who was our No. 1 player way back in 2003. Crouch can play running back, linebacker or defensive end at the next level. Sims could never play defensive end, but he was one of the best running back/linebacker prospects Ive ever seen. Crouch is in that category.
Interesting to compare him to a former number one overall recruit, saying he is one of the best RB/LB hes ever seen, then drop him in the rankings lol. Not that dropping from 1 to 5 really means much.
Trey Smith, Kahlil McKenzie, Bryce Brown... That's 3 #1 players in the last 10 recruiting classes... So technically while we've been down, and negative, we had 30% of the #1 Players...
Also on 5 stars, we've had Josh Malone, CP, Trey Smith, Drew Richmond, Kongbo, Kyle Philips, Hurd, Kamara, Preston Williams, Darick Rogers, EB, Kahlil, Bryce Brown, Janzen Jackson, Jawaun James, and a few others.
Not to mention at times we had Hunter Johnson, Cade Mays, Tee Higgins, and other 5 stars committed who flipped.
It's a big reason why their after spring rankings are somewhat bs. Because only kids who camp get positive bumps. No one moves up in the rankings after spring if they didn't do the camp circuit. Rivals analysts will even tell you that.
