The fact that out of nowhere Pruitt and his team were able to get ITS, Griffin, and Walker to even seriously consider UT shows that this staff has a completely different (and proven) approach to recruiting then the previously coaching staff. To be successful, we have to compete and sign the same players that Alabama, Georgia, USC, and other elite programs recruit. We shouldn't be fawning all over highly rated in-state players, while overpromising and underdelivering, just because of "muh stars". I'd much rather sign a 3 star player that is also a take for an Alabama or a Georgia, instead of a highly rated 4 star who's only being talked to be someone like Arkansas. Stars matter, but what matters more is how good of a fit to your program a player is, along with looking at how a player can develop once he's a part of your program.
