Who was the kid last cycle always wearing UT gear and his dad had orange suit or something? Ended up at Cal, or USC.

I'll admit, this is hard not to get your hopes up over though

While agree that it’s smart not to get your hopes up over what gear a kid wears, but Crouch is much different than Taylor Stuart in that Crouch visited UT 3 times WITHIN ONE MONTH, twice on his own dime. So he clearly has a major soft spot for us, as opposed to ITS who seemed to be on Snapchat and twitter constantly trying to get attention.

Athlete Quavaris Crouch of Charlotte, N.C., another of the Vols' top targets, remains just outside five-star range in 247Sports' rankings. The 6-foot-2.5, 238-pound Crouch is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 37 overall player and No. 2 athlete in the 2019 class, but he remains a five-star in the 247Sports Composite.

Isaac Taylor-Stuart.

I thought it was O. Griffin. The rapper, Warren G's son. Although both teased up prettt hard. On top of how Quay Walker disrespected us by far the worst I had ever seen when I saw that he put the UT hat on during his decision on TV. Then, threw it across the gym and put a dawgs hat on (UGA). I was pissed. I wanted him most out of all of the recruits that Pruitt went after late. Even more than JJ Peterson.

It was ITS. And neither “teased it up” IMO. Both were seriously considering us. Griffin actually cooled down on his UT love as NSD neared and we all knew he wasn’t coming.

ITS was all about us and wore a Vols shirt to school on NSD. Likely would be a Vol today but apparently USC missed out on someone they had higher because ITS tweeted right before committing that he got a late call and things had changed.

But ultimately everyone knew it was going to be hard to pull those two away from California.

The fact that out of nowhere Pruitt and his team were able to get ITS, Griffin, and Walker to even seriously consider UT shows that this staff has a completely different (and proven) approach to recruiting then the previously coaching staff. To be successful, we have to compete and sign the same players that Alabama, Georgia, USC, and other elite programs recruit. We shouldn't be fawning all over highly rated in-state players, while overpromising and underdelivering, just because of "muh stars". I'd much rather sign a 3 star player that is also a take for an Alabama or a Georgia, instead of a highly rated 4 star who's only being talked to be someone like Arkansas. Stars matter, but what matters more is how good of a fit to your program a player is, along with looking at how a player can develop once he's a part of your program.
