if i remember right, the word was both OG and ITS at one point gave the impression they were going to come here. and then decided not to really late in the process. distance i think wound up being a big issue since the relationships weren't necesssarily "there" given the time frame. it sucked, but hard to say that was really anyone's fault. i put it in "victim of circumstance" category. So they lied, or he lied. Or he changed his mind at the last minute. Doesn't count until they sign.
i loved the article about his visit. gives me some hope.Only way we get QC is if we go 7-5 imo. He doesn’t want to be part of a rebuild process
The funny thing is if you go back and read early in this thread, he was quoted in the spring saying that he wanted to be apart of building back a program that had fallen off (like UT). He transferred to a school that was winless before he got there and he was the reason they won like 12 the next year and a championship I believe. And he liked the idea of doing that in college, bringing back a program that had fallen off.i loved the article about his visit. gives me some hope.
but in the end, i think even if we finish 7-5, he's still looking at a Clemson or Michigan team that's playoff ready now. that's apparently really important to him, and at the end of the day, that's a box we can't check.
it is. and there's really no telling what the story really is right now. he's been mostly quiet about his recruitment. The funny thing is if you go back and read early in this thread, he was quoted in the spring saying that he wanted to be apart of building back a program that had fallen off (like UT). Recruiting is a wild ride.
My only concern with Clemson is how Dabo uses his “faith” in recruiting. So hearing how much emphasis QC places religion in his life, coupled with how good Clemson is as a program (unfortunately), I think he ends up there.
Fortunately, we’re going to get some grown ass men this class (Henry, Pappoe, etc) so him going elsewhere wouldn’t necessarily be a crippling blow. Would be a hell of a get though.
One of my friends actually plays for Clemson, I've actually sat next to Dabo one time in Church. His faith isn't just a show, if we have to lose Crouch to someone I'd much rather it be Clemson than Michigan and Harbaugh. My only concern with Clemson is how Dabo uses his “faith” in recruiting. Not me. I'd rather he head north and play in the B1G if not UT. Screw Clemson and their run in that weak ass conference. One of my friends actually plays for Clemson, I've actually sat next to Dabo one time in Church. Crouch will be hard to sway (Clemson with the momentum). However, Crouch coach who visited the Vols with Crouch last week raved about Tenn and the coaching staff. He reminded Crouch why he was enamored with the Vols in the spring and the Vols did not disappoint when he visited for the Kentucky game. Michigan, Clemson and the Vols appear to be his top 3 at the moment. Vols aren't out of it.
