Well a D is a fail grade, and it appears he would then be and academic casualty.

You got a link for this? Just asking because the way I understood it was that you have to maintain a certain GPA to remain eligible and I havent read anything that says you fail a class with a D. Just asking for a link

what am i missing about this transcript? Is it proof he or the university cheated on classes? should he have been academically ineligible? Cause on the surface it just looks like a bad report card.

I would assume that they are talking about "Independent Studies" courses that appear on transcripts like these. If it's anything like Independent Studies courses at UT, it's basically a class that's made up for you. It's not so bad when it's independent research into an area that isn't really covered by other classes, but I imagine that it would be a problem if the curriculum is not academically rigorous. It looks kind of suspicious for a kid to take a made up course and get good grades in it when he's pretty much failing at every other course (even the ones that might as well be made up). Kind of makes you question the rigor of the made up course.

Appears Gus Malzahn made a better choice taking the gig at Arkansas State huh? His wife may have been disappointed with that facebook debacle but hindsight it helped them get a head job he should have a chance to excel at. N. Carolina typically isn't a powerhouse and with penalties they may receive they might drop from average in ACC to bottom feeder.

I could be wrong. LAWVOL, DEERPARK, or anyone else familiar with details that come with a scholarship?

Minimum credits are needed each term to advance towards a degree and remain eligible

I remember Higgins (basketball) failed that math class and was inelgible, so I does that mean he still on scholarship, but can not play till he gets grades up? I just know with grants you can not fail a class, and thought that was same for scholarship.

You can fail a class, but must pass at least 6 credit hours a semester while maintaining a certain GPA to be eligible for the next semester.

They must also complete a certain percentage of their degree requirements after their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year.

Here's more info.
