'26 NC TE Kendre Harrison

Can prob do like a baseball and football but basketball and football would be a lot tougher to pull off.

Maybe. But even then fall ball for baseball is already about to start for most SEC teams. Those rosters are talented. You’d have to be a once in a generation player to basically be able to skip all of fall ball with your team, come in to practice in January and expect to get playing time in February when the season starts.

It’s just a really difficult hurdle to clear in 2024.

Doing it vs. doing it well. I’m sure there are guys that do it, but as you said, doing it for a top-5ish team in both sports would be pretty tough. But if you just wanted to do it at Florida or something… 😎

John Rhys Plumlee just did it at Ole Miss and UCF… that may be the best combo of highest profile/most recent.

Agreed. I just don’t see it happening now.

Jameis Winston and Kyler Murray were probably the most high profile recent ones to do it so it's definitely possible but most of the people end up fizzling out in one because of the insane commitment each sport takes in different ways.

Jimmy Graham (Miami)
Ronald Curry ( North Carolina)
- switched from College QB to NFL WR for Oakland Raiders. Played PG for Tarheels. Phenomenal athlete.
Tony G- Cal
A Gates- KENT STATE
J Peppers- North Carolina
C Ward - Florida State
Allen Iverson didn’t play both (obviously, he went to Georgetown), but he was a top end football recruit. He could’ve been a start college football player. Same for Randy Moss in basketball.

100%

Iverson as a DB or WR and KR??? 😬😳

He was a top 5 player overall in his grade. I believe he was a QB in HS but was being recruited as either a WR or DB.

Antonio Gates never played football in college. Jimmy Graham only played one season of football in college.

Kyler Murray did it as recently as 2018. And as a position player which is way more difficult.

A pitcher could definitely still pull it off.

No. He played in 56 games as a forward on the basketball team. He quit basketball after his junior season because it was clear his future was in football and he was a projected first round pick.

I grew up in NC. When peppers entered the game it was almost like a 6 or 7 man situation. He made a difference around the rim. The basketball team was very happy to have whatever minutes he had to give.

I didn’t say it was impossible and would never happen. I did say though it would take a once-in-a-generation type talent to pull it off though, which let’s be real Kyler Murray is exactly that. #1 overall pick for football or a 1st round pick for baseball? How many players fit that bill?

I don’t think it can’t be done, but we’ve seen recruitments exactly like this one before and rarely, if ever, do they end up playing two sports.

Much less likely for someone to be able to do it at UT where both sports are at the top of the game. But I think a pitcher could do it if they weren’t talked out of playing both and focusing on one

Rumor he is going back to Reidsville High School
Really??

That would be strange and not sure it would be beneficial to UT.

He plays on of the best teams in the state and they give him the football a lot.

The lady that runs NC Preps in NC texted him and he said no so it was probably just a rumor started. His old High School is really good still.

Kyler Murray was a pretty good 2 way

Kendre Harrison is certainly feeling Tennessee a good bit. He loves Knoxville and the Vols will be in this one for the long haul in our opinion. Certainly other premier schools will come and swing big for the five-star tight end but his feelings about Knoxville should give Tennessee a real good shot.
