‘23 NC WR Noah Rogers (NC State)

Ok.... people thinking that 17yo high school kids are just super business savvy (especially when their season and school just started) are crazy. If they are talking to other teams, it's not to squeeze Ohio St. out of more money. It means they haven't completely shut the door on their recruitment. If you haven't recruited these kids the right way, these big time spring/summer commits will waiver. Recruiting isn't done until the ink is dry.

Agree. Think back to when you were 17. And a team wants to talk to you about the prospect of getting an NIL deal. I know I wouldn’t have been business savvy about it and I would be willling to bet that 95-99% of these athletes are either.

So two WR commits to OSU are "looking around".

This definitely makes me think Tate stuff is real and possible. Sounds like they got hoodwinked with OSU's NIL and aren't happy about it. And why shouldn't they be?

You can't start a business relationship if the original deal reveals them to be deceitfully taking advantage you. No real coming back from that.

Just my guess, but I hope it's true.
Yep. If we flip both Rogers and Tate....my oh my. Heupel is gonna have some serious toys to play with. We'll be a nightmare for DB's in this league.

Who cares if he's committed to Ohio State? He's not signed anything yet. Same for anyone committed to any other school. If the staff wants them, they should continue to pursue them. It's up to the kid whether they listen or not. I'm sure some of our commits are still being pursued by other schools. Until they sign their NLIs, or some other form of contract, they're fair game.
Indeed. It's not over til the ink hits the paper. You never close doors or stop trying. You recruit until the end then hope your efforts produce immediate results and if not, maybe via the portal.

Tate is more likely than Rogers.

I don’t think Rogers was ever legitimately interested in us.
Kind of splitting hairs a bit here between the two but Rogers does seem to have real interest. As AP mentioned, he needs to get back to campus to believe it's real but North Carolina kids make more sense to UT than Chicago kids.

I'll trust you on that... but things change with these kids. If his perception is that OSU misled him in some way then those who seemed the most honest might have more appeal now.

Gotta be that OSU mislead both of them. A lot of kids are gonna find this out the hard way from other schools/teams who have big money donors for their NIL who aren't exactly honoring and honest in their business deals - Miami, TAM, and now OSU come to mind.

I love that Tennessee and Spyre have yet to mislead anyone. Seems like our NIL has been done professionally with honor. Keep this up and the kids we missed out on early (Francis, Carnell, etc.) will either come back or show that UT was the right decision to other recruits.

This is a player I always wanted and was confused how we never seemed to get any traction with.

I don’t know how realistic this is, but I’m here for it.

Rather have this one than Tate personally but both would be a dream to go along with who we already have. Really interesting that Ohio State has screwed this up enough for these kids to look around but in the end I would bet nothing comes of this.

As much as I and others have been raving about Nathan Leacock (deservedly so), this kid is absolutely one of the most talented players in the country.

If you put Nu'keese Richardson and Montrell Jones into one player, Noah Rogers is what you would get.

He's a tad underrated as the 44th ranked player in America in my opinion.

on October 7th, Millbrook takes on Rolesville (Leacock vs Rogers).
Really wish this kid had made it to the Florida game.
