Just curious how many gamers we have on the board that plan on picking up NCAA 2005 next week.

I pre-ordered mine last month and hope to pick it up on Tuesday.

I think it's definitely one of the hottest games of the year.

Does your brother play it on xbox or ps2?

I'll have the XBOX version next week. Looking forward to it. Still undecided on whether or not to get XBOX Live for online football.

I'll probably get ESPN NFL2K5 over Madden this year. Reviews have been great for both and the price on ESPN is so much better ($19.99).

Only $19.99? What's the deal with that? A new marketing strategy maybe.

Yep. All the ESPN (Sega) sports games are going to be $19.99. They are trying to win over Madden customers. Both games are fantastic, but for $30 cheaper, the decision is easy for me.

I've heard a lot of good stuff about this game. Especially the home field advantage.

I bought NCAA 2005 a couple days ago. The home field advantage is incredible! Neyland looks so realistic. If the game is any indication of this year, R. Clausen should be out QB. Let me know if anyone noticed how bad Leak is on the game. I have been a long time Madden guy but 19.99 is pretty sweet for a game that is really good. I think ESPN is the way to go this year.

I think the game is pretty much a re-hash of last year. I enjoy playing it, but it seems like I've been playing the same game for years now.

The lighting and stadium models are very nice this year. Player models are pretty much untouched from last year.

Home field advantage and the match up stick are cool, but they don't really lend anything to the game.

My biggest complaint is the slow down. An XBOX game should not have slowdown issues. Running up the gut or actually, running in general, tends to get choppy and the framerate starts taking a hit. Turning off Home Field Adv. helps, but I like having that on. Taking off the stadium shake helps, but that is fun. Turning down the announcers helps the slow down a bit, but there again, that is one of the reasons I love NCAA.

So, at the end of the day, I see a good college football game that needs some work. It's basically last year's game with new rosters and a bunch of fancy stuff added that slows down the action. Seriously, there shouldn't be any framerate issues or slowdown on an XBOX game when you have it running on the PS2 and GC as well. The game feels rushed.

I'm ready for ESPN NFL 2K5 tomorrow. All the movies I've seen of actual gameplay are great. I haven't noticed any slowdown and the brand marketing of ESPN looks incredible. Can't wait.

I like the homefield advantage. I also like going on the road and shutting them up. Hehe.

The best thing about this year is the expanded rosters. you don't have to cut half of the guys you just recruited to get your roster down to 55.

I always love NCAA but I have to agree with DrRosenRosen in that I am pretty disappointed in the sluggishness of the game at times.

I haven't noticed a difference in the speed. Of course, I haven't played it alot as of yet.

Has anyone played ESPN NFL yet? I am supposed to get it tomorrow and was wondering how it is.

I haven't seen it yet. I heard it was pretty sweet. I may have to pick it up this weekend. I think DrRosenRosen has it. Maybe he will stop by and give us the scoop.

I just picked up ESPN NFL2K5 and it is a great deal for $20. Anyone else have it?

How does it compare to last years Madden? I bought the SEGA version a couple of years ago and hated it. I am still considering picking this one up.

Its hard to compare it to madden. the franchise mode is a lot more in depth with choosing the schedule for the players and coaches as well as all the other stuff like contracts and players retiring. The crib is kinda cool. I thought the really cool thing was the first person mode where you play the game from the players view. I think the madden series is getting kinda boring and espn is thirty dollars cheaper.

Sale @ Target week of 7/25 - 7/31

ESPN NFL2K5 $15.88

I got it last week. Best football game this year. PERIOD. Nothing in Madden to justify spending $34 more.
