But, as we discussed during the tournament and going along with the Duke homer love in the bracket seeding, WVU and UK should have never been in the same bracket in the first place. The NCAA just had to have Huggins and Calipari in the same bracket so that both of their bastard children couldn't reach the final four.

Found this a moment ago reading a story about Cal speaking in Alabama today.

Looking ahead to Duke cost Kentucky.

Calipari suggested Kentucky lost to West Virginia in the Elite Eight last season in part because the Wildcats were looking ahead to Duke in the Final Four.

"Do you know how badly we wanted to play Duke?" Calipari said. "I think that's why we played so badly against West Virginia. We wanted Duke so badly we couldn't see straight."

Kentucky shot 4 of 32 on 3-pointers in the loss to West Virginia.

"I'll be honest," Calipari said. "I really felt we had the best team, not at the beginning (of last season), but at the end. The one thing we were fearful of is that we'd go on a shooting slump, which was the question about our team from Day 1. But we made shots, we willed shots in. And that game, we went 0 for 20 and I kept saying, 'We're going to be alright, and their eyes are like, no we're not.'"

Added Calipari: "How about that? Five first-round picks on one team, and that dummy couldn't win a national title."

If this was the case, then Calipari is a much worse coach than I thought. For any team to overlook the Big East Champs is absurd. An even dumber thing to consider is the fact that UK played Saturday night and Duke did not play Baylor until Sunday afternoon, so they had no idea who they were going to play. Just another dumbass thing Calipari has said this offseason.

I couldn't agree more, as I said it until I was blue in the face after the game. Huggie bear owns Cal. You would have thought the 1-3-1 was a foreign concept the way we attacked it, and the 2nd half adjustment by WV with the backdoor cuts was obvious to.
