Mike Macintyre is going to be a great hire for someone. What he has done at SJSU in 3 years is truly remarkable. That was one of the worst programs in the country and he won 10 games with them this season, and almost beat Stanford.

must be the Debbie Yow connection from Maryland.

He has done a pretty remarkable job at Vanderbilt, improved that program to a point where a strong argument could be made that it is a better job than NC State. He is also very well compensated at Vandy, NC State would have to really pony up to get him, in my opinion.

I wouldn't say it's a better job than NC State, but he's been impressive enough that I think he could probably get a better job than NC State

In the abstract I agree with you -I think he could do better than NC State; but of the available jobs that are better than NC State (Tenn, Aub, Ark), I don't see him getting any of those three.

Arkansas has distinct advantage over UT and Auburn in the buyout category.

Kentucky: Don't be surprised in San Jose State head coach Mike MacIntyre emerges in the Kentucky coaching search. A source close to the situation tells me that Kentucky AD Mitch Barnhart and Bill Parcells are close. MacIntyre worked under Parcells with the Dallas Cowboys. MacIntyre also has a connection with Kentucky associate AD John Cropp, who is Barnhart's right hand man in this process. San Jose State finished their regular season late Saturday night with a win over LA Tech.
