So, the Penn State hockey team are going to sport "409" stickers on their helmets. While I sincerely believe that the NCAA overreached, how is it possible that the clowns in Happy Valley can be so tone deaf?

They just want to rub it into Bama fans and Bear

We vacated wins in otherwise mediocre seasons. I'm well over it.

So you are ok that the university, one I assume graduated from, has had numerous instances of ignoring rules and cheating? Don't you think that perhaps there were years where you cheated and did not get caught? What's integrity right?

They had no grounds to punish Penn St, I'm glad to see the right thing is finally being done.

I absolutely agree that the NCAA had no grounds to punish Penn St. However, I think it should have been done by the state government and the board that oversees the school. The Governor should have stepped up and told the NCAA "back off, I got this" and put the smack down on Penn State.

Give him as many wins as you want...he's never getting his reputation back. And that's what most people are going to remember, with good reason.

Oh no! Kids were given money while the university made millions off their labors! This lack of integrity gives me all the emotions!

Can I ask what this has to do with Penn State?

Regarding the top of the post -- Why should the NCAA rules be any different just for Alabama ?

Did you mean to use blue font?

No. The NCAA is not a criminal court, and they had no authority here. They simply punished them to appease the masses, and penn st didn't protest because it would have been more bad press that they didn't need at the time.

It seemed like you were ok with the improper benefits in your post

I am. But I'm okay with it whether it happens at Alabama or anywhere else. Assuming the benefits aren't illegal, of course.

But again, what does this have to do with Penn State?

like Pete Rose and the steroid users that cant get voted into the Hall -- Paternos name is tarnished forever regardless of his record

Baseball needs to get over what Pete Rose did and let him in the Hall of Fame. My respect for that Hall of Fame would grow if they did that. And I agree in Paterno. His image took a major blow when all of the allegations came out.
