"What are ethics really about? Born and bred to hate the University of Tennessee as an avid ACC fan, my opinions began to change when Pat Summitt extended herself and her program to a poor school and their program in the mountains of North Carolina. But I could still "hate" UT, except for Pat, until Bruce Pearl came to town. My first encounter was a speech at a charity event and then another and another and another. The man seemed to have no limits in his desire to give to the community. We have all been touched by cancer; this man sheltered and loved his player with this disease and went all out to raise funds to find a cure."
Look, a Pearlophile. Burn her at the stake.

VOL NATION: Bruce pearl rally/march TOMORROW @ 6:00 PM. Meet at Neyland Stadium and we will march to Thompson Bowling from there. The media has already been notified. THIS IS THE BIG ONE!!!
Wow.
Pretty sure no one is attacking Bruce for the money he raised for cancer. Good for him...sports aside, I'm glad he could use his charisma and high profile job to raise funds for such a terrible disease. That is seriously a great thing.
Still, there is a pretty good reason why the 'AA will come down harshly on him and this University if we keep him. There is no amount of money he can raise that is going to change that. Actions have consequences.
Agreed. That was more intended for the people that loath Pearl because of a lie. Lying doesn't make you a horrible person, and should not be grounds for hating someone. It wasn't right, and he's getting what he deserves. No reason to pile on.
