The point is, for everyone that says, "Who cares, it's baseball" or whatever sport you wish to insert, there are fans who follow it, because either the sport intrigues them or it's related to UT.

NFL games (playoffs excluded) are excellent to have playing in the background while you're trying to take a nice Sunday nap. I like watching Peyton chuck the rock just because it brings back memories of the good ol' days.

Fair enough. I'm not busting anybody's chops for liking those sports. I just don't feel obligated to pretend like I give a crap when our Tennis team kicks ass and takes names. I'd rather them be good than to suck, but in the end, I really don't care that much because it isn't interesting to me.

We are making fun of them because they think spamming the NCAA FB page and making us look like a bunch of uneducated homer rednecks is a good idea. It makes us all look bad.

No it doesn't. You are a fan of whatever you choose. Some support anything University Tennessee, some do not. I take great pride in how the Lady Vols, for instance, represent the University. There is no law that says you need to feel the same. I'm a Steelers fan and I live in Knoxville, The Titans are fine, but they were the Oilers when I was a kid. As awesome as Earl Campbell was, I'm still a Steelers fan. If you'd rather watch a documentary while the Lady Vols play in round two, knock yourself out.

hey I don't think it is all that bad, except for the 2 or 3 that keep writting over and over. After burning a mattress, this will get the students at UT more time on TV.

I tried to be level headed with these Facebook people but there is no hope for their lost souls. They would rather keep Pearl, take the punishment, and it be good in a couple of years. Very frustrating when people can not understand the obvious.

Stupid and inconsequential things happen on the internet everyday; this message board is one of them, and Facebook and its many manifestations are another. (Don't get me wrong. I enjoy both).

Anyone that would infer anything about a group of people from stupid posters on the internet is, well, stupid.

So, your including yourself in that same category too, right?? I mean, you just called the stupid posters who call people stupid, well, stupid. So, is it safe to infer that you would be stupid as well since you think they are stupid posters?? Just checking.

Not that the people are stupid. Just that, putting any stock into e-forums to judge an entire fanbase is stupid.

That's obvious, but you can infer plenty from the people on that page. They aren't even close to knowing who Bruce really is, especially his colorful past, and the epic fails of posts over there truly make us all look, well, stupid.

I've already shown my age, so could I ask...what does attacking a facebook wall mean and how does one do the attacking? Are these Vol fans fighting each other? I only ask as I've seen Vol fans attacking each other at Neyland the last few years. Not fighting as it were, just the sit down shut up variety.

it just means they're being ignorant and typing stupid comments on the message wall of the NCAA facebook page. It's the digital version of people calling someone and leaving an ignorant comment on someone's voicemail.
