Just read the article on GVX about how hearings like the one Pearl and UT will have to experience.

One thought came to mind -- what if Pearl just says "forget it" and doesn't show up?

I realize it would be tough for him to coach again if he did that, but that may be true anyhow.

I think BP would like to work as a coach again sometime in the future, and no-showing the hearing would definitely prevent that.

He screwed up bad, and I don't think he wants to do it again and make it worse for himself.

thread summary: if you have lied more than once in your life you're not classy and stating an opinion is like stating an opinion.

Pearl isn't that stupid. Failing to show would eliminate any chance he has of getting a coaching gig.

I heartily endorse the idea of Pearl exercising the option to stay home. That way, I never have to see him coach again.

Methinks Kim Shrigley would disagree with the implication that Pearl has only lied once in his life.

People are still using this platform? Honestly? Seriously, it's time to move on now.

I'm a huge Bruce Pearl fan. I don't find him an insincere oaf.

I had forgotten how much smarter judicious use of the ignore function makes this place seem.

I was one of Bruce's biggest supporters and also was one of the first of said fans to admit he should be gone, but he deserves a second chance. I believe he will do everything necessary to obtain it, his second chance. Anything else proffered is just plain bull****.

I hope he coaches again just to see hat whine about it.

I won't be whining. Seeing Pearl back in the jerkwater leagues will almost be as satisfying as seeing him totally blackballed.

If the outcome is anything less than a show cause for CBP (which is somewhat possible, isn't it?), I could see him getting another shot at an A10/CUSA/Colonial level school.

That's a pretty large range of possibilities. Coming back at Temple is one thing. Coming back at Towson is another.

Slowly but surely, I begin to fully appreciate Freak's greatest idea for its efficacy and brilliance once again.

True. My point is that he still has a shot to coach in respectable conference if things go well for him at the hearing. If they do not, he may never get out of the doldrums again.
